Judith Horan, daughter of Jean (Rebuck) and William Nelson Stine expired at Emmanuel Center in Danville on Thursday October 10, 2024.

She attended grade school in Girardville and Ashland. Judy graduated from Ashland High School and York School of Nursing. She was employed by Geisinger Medical Center and Santa Barbara Hospital in California.

On October 17, 1970 she married Joseph A. Horan in St. Ignatius Church, Centrailia by Rev John Sukniac. Joseph was the best life companion she could have hoped for.

Known for both her wit and generosity she enjoyed travel and attending community events. The couple had 2 children, Jennifer (Horan) Wehry and Joseph A. Horan.

Due to the deaths of her parents she was raised by her grandmother Emma Rebuck and aunts Kathryn Rebuck and Ellen Wetzel.

She was preceded in death by her parents, aunts, grandmother, and her brother William Stine.

Judy is survived by husband and children along with 3 beloved grandchildren Madeline, Joseph, & Veronica. She will be sadly missed by her devoted family and many friends.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday October 15th from 10-11:00 AM at Zion’s Reformed UCC, 2400 Centre St, Ashland PA 17921. Funeral services will begin in church at 11:00 AM on Tuesday October 15th. Interment will follow services at Christ Church Cemetery in Fountain Springs.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ashland Public Library, 1229 Centre St, Ashland PA 17921, Mount Carmel Public Library, 30 S. Oak St, Mt Carmel PA 17851 or the American Cancer Society, 16 N. 4th St, Minersville PA 17954.

Kathleen M. Consugar, 75, of Pottsville, passed away Thursday, October 10th at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Schuylkill East, Pottsville.

Born in Pottsville on June 18, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Ferne E. (Schaeffer) Pesta and William Quinn.

Kathleen was a 1967 graduate of Nativity BVM High School.

She was employed as a secretary for the local government.

Kathleen is survived by a son, Bill Consugar, husband of Beth, of Leesport; a granddaughter, Isabel Consugar; and several nephews.

In addition to her parents, Kathleen is preceded in death by her former husband, Michael Consugar.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, October 21st at Ebling Stabingas Funeral Home, Cressona. A visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until the start of the service.

Helen Kuzma, 91, longtime Frackville resident, passed away peacefully Friday morning at Seton Manor, Orwigsburg.

Born in Shenandoah she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Mary McAndrew.

She was of the Catholic faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph S., her daughter Maryann Tyson and her two sisters; Florence Dennison and Rosemary Chrin.

Helen is survived by her son Thomas Kuzma, Pine Grove, three daughters; Virginia Pielka, NJ, Cheryl wife of Robert Halupa, Pottsville and Patricia wife of Paul Chikotas, DE, seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Services and interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

Margaret Ann “Peggy” Wirtz
, aged 79, of Mahanoy City, PA, passed away on Tuesday, October 8th, 2024, at Broad Mountain Health & Rehabilitation Center. Born on January 6, 1945, in Mahanoy City, PA, she was the daughter of the late Margaret (Morgans) and William Woodall.

Peggy was a proud graduate of Mahanoy Area High School, Class of 1962. She dedicated several years of her career to working at Mahanoy City Shirt. Peggy found joy in crafting alongside her beloved husband, William Wirtz.

She is survived by her husband, William, and their four sons: William Jr., husband of Karen, of Mahanoy City; Allen, of Mahanoy City; Thomas, husband of Candida, of Pittsboro, NC; and Tim, husband of Kristin, of Ashland. Peggy was also a cherished grandmother to five grandchildren: Allyson, Michael, Sophie, Rayla, and Gracelyn. She was predeceased by her grandchildren, Brayden and Angelray.

A funeral service will be held at Louis D. Truskowsky Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Mahanoy City, PA, at 11 AM on Monday, October 14th, with Colby Delbalso officiating. Friends and family are invited to call on Monday from 9 to 11 AM at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the German Protestant Cemetery Association in Mahanoy City, PA.

Robert Orme Beadle, 75, of Greenbury, passed away Saturday October 5, 2024 at home surrounded by his family.

Born in Philadelphia, September 16, 1949 he was a son of the late William O. and Margaret (Madara) Beadle.

He attended St. Kieran’s Catholic School before graduating from Nativity BVM High school in 1968.

Robert went on to work at Schuylkill Products and Northeast Prestressed Concrete Cressona for 50 ½ years before retiring in February of 2023.

He was very involved as a volunteer for Minersville Little League where he served as president from 1983-1987. He managed Rotary and the 1982 District 24 Championship all-star team.

He was a member of the former St. Kieran’s Roman Catholic Church and currently Holy Family Parish of Minersville. He was very involved with the Minersville Little league, serving as president.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter Melissa Beadle in 2018; a son John John Beadle; an infant sister Catherine Beadle; Brother Thomas Beadle; nephew Anthony Naydock.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 35 years Bonnie Louise (Bolinsky) Beadle; sons Robert A, Beadle and his wife Julia of Reston, VA; Christopher M. Beadle of Pottsville; Joshua W. Beadle and his fiance Jaime Zimmerman of Minersville; 3 Step- Daughter Crystal Ennis and her husband Joseph; Jaime Zelonis of Frackville; Jessica Lerch and her husband Cody; Brothers William G. Beadle of Greenbury; Joseph Norris and his wife Stacy of CA; Sisters Jeanne Androshick of St. Clair; Peg Naydock and her companion Roger Gillman of Hershey; 10 Grandchildren Maeve Stoudt of Pottsville; Wade Stoudt of Pottsville; Kayla “Pooky” Huss of Ringtown; Kyle Dillman and his fiance Madison of Shenandoah Heights; Jacob Donaldson and his wife Delaniex of Ringtown; Lillian Ennis of Ringtown; Joey “BeanBean Tucci and his fiance Kiana of Mahanoy City; Felix Zelonis of Frackville; Gaige Blashock of Frackville; Aisha Webb of FL; 5 Great Grandchildren; Nieces and Nephews.

Memorial Mass will be announced at a later date.

Moody R. Shrew, 92, of Sacramento passed away Thursday, October 10, 2024 at the Tremont Health & Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Fulton County, Pennsylvania on August 16, 1932, a son of the late Claude Shreow and Edna Richardson.

Moody was a United States Army veteran serving from 1951-1955.

He was a retired welder.

Moody enjoyed spending time with his friends and going to auctions.

He is survived by his two children, Gilbert Shrew and Rita Tamez, both of Texas; six grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren.

Following his wishes, Moody has donated his body to science through the Humanity Gifts Registry.

The Dimon Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. has been entrusted with arrangements.

Kenneth A. Martin, Sr.
, 83, a resident of Shenandoah, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, October 10th, 2024.

Kenneth was born in Pottsville on March 28, 1941, a son of the late Robert and Laura (Starr) Martin. He grew up in Pottsville, then moved to the Philadelphia area where he met his wife, the former Alice Hossler, and then returned to Shenandoah to raise his family. He was a faithful member of the Girardville United Methodist Church.

Kenneth was retired as a maintenance man for Ateeco, Inc., (Mrs. T's) in Shenandoah. In his retirement, he could be found doing mechanic work at Harpers Garage in Frackville or Kowalski's garage in Shenandoah. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and scratch off lotteries.

In addition to his wife Alice (Hossler) Martin who passed away in 2003, he was preceded in death by siblings, Robert, Carl and HenryMartin, Darlet Marticio and Emily Davis.

He is survived by his children, Kenneth A. Martin (Shannon); Brenda Ney (Albert); Alice Dudeck (Joe) and Bonnie Martin. He leaves behind seven grandchildren, Kenneth Martin III, Tanner Martin, Payton Martin, McKenzie Boyer, Joey Lazarchick, Anthony Ney and Jeremiah Ney, along with five great grandchildren, Levi Boyer, Brian Boyer III, Ellie Martin, Dax Martin and Delainey Ney.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 19th at 12 Noon at the Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, 412 West Main Street, Ringtown. A time for visitation will be held with Kenneth's family from 11-12 Noon, prior to the service.
