Rosemary A. Rusinko
, 90, of Orwigsburg, passed away Saturday, October 12th, at Seton Manor.
 
Rosemary was born on the Shatz-Miller farm in East Brunswick township on May 22, 1934, a daughter of the late Mary D. (Brotosky) Rusinko and Michael J. Rusinko .

She was a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church Schuylkill Haven, and a former member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, St. Clair.

She was an Orwigsburg High School Graduate, Class of 1952 and was employed as a receptionist and clerk at Walborn Insurance Company, Orwigsburg, from 1953 to 1987.

Rosemary is survived by a sister, Julia Kunkel, widow of Lorain, of Orwigsburg as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her siblings Mary Paul, Anna Otruba, Helen Phillips, Elizabeth Novack, Emma Phillips, Susan Rusinko, Eva Becker, Dorothy White and Michael Rusinko.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, October 22, at 10:30 AM with Rev. Msgr. Edward S. Zemanik officiating. Visitation with family will be from 9:15 until 10:15 AM in the church chapel. Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Saint Clair.

Janet L. Miller
, 69, of Muir passed away peacefully early Monday morning, October 14, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family following a brief illness.

Born in Pottsville on Monday, September 12, 1955, a daughter of the late Walter and Mae Paul Minnich. She was a 1973 graduate of Williams Valley High School.

Janet retired from the Naval Support Activity, Mechanicsburg, where she was employed for over 30 years.

She was a member of the St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Reinerton. She also served as a Judge of Elections for Porter Township and was a volunteer with Paws for a Cause, Tower City.

Janet made her home on Church Street, a place where everyone would want to come together. She could often be found working in her yard, around the pool, or decorating for every season and holiday. Christmas was special to her and she went above and beyond for her family. Janet also loved to travel, whether it be to family beach trips, Disney World, or to Atlantic City.

Without a doubt, her family was the center of her world. She was her children's and grandchildren's biggest supporter. You could always find Janet cheering on her children and grandchildren at any school event or just life in general.

Surviving are her husband, Robert "Fritz" Miller, to whom she would have celebrated 49 years of marriage in November; her two children, Jason Miller and his wife Rhonda, and Heidi Brummett and her husband Brian, both of Muir; a sister, Cindy Minnich, Orwin; a brother Randy Minnich and his wife Sharon, Florida; her grandchildren, Kelsey Suchar and her husband Kyle, Brady and Brenna Miller, and Addyson Brummett. Janet was also eagerly anticipating the birth of her first great grandson in March.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home. Viewing will be from 10-11 at the chapel. Janet will be laid to rest in the St. Peter's Cemetery, Orwin. A luncheon and time of fellowship will follow in the Grace United Methodist Church, Muir.

Memorial donations in her memory can be made to Muir Fire Company, 107 W Church St, Muir, PA 17957.

Leonard L. "Lenny" Blyler, Jr.
, 53, of Jonestown, passed away very unexpectedly early Saturday morning, October 12, 2024 at his home.

Lenny was born in Ashland on Thursday, July 1, 1971, a son of the late Leonard Sr. and Lois Jones Blyler. He attended Tri-Valley High School.

He was an account manger with the former Ingram Micro, now Ceva Logistics, Jonestown for over 30 years.

Lenny enjoyed cooking and doing scratch-off lottery tickets. He could often be found with his dogs, Sierra and Kaydence.

Surviving are his wife of 31 years, Jeanine Scheib Blyler; three sisters, Cathy Bixler, Hegins, Sandy Hunter and her husband Randy, Pine Grove, and Lynette Nemitz and her husband Jerry, Utah; numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Lenny's life will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 11:00 am from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Inc., Tower City with Pastor Annette Shutt officiating. A visitation will be from 10-11 at the chapel. He will be laid to rest in St. Peter's Cemetery, Orwin.

Evelyn J. Tropp
, 77, of Pottsville passed away Thursday, October 10th, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest, Allentown.

Born in Pottsville on February 6, 1947, she was a daughter of the late Edward S. & Anna (Kiefer) Drye.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Norman J. Tropp.

Evelyn was a proud 1964 graduate of Minersville Area High School.

She retired as a bank teller from Union Bank & Trust Company, Pottsville.

Evelyn was of the Catholic faith; a member of the former St. Francis of Assisi, Minersville. She had also sang in the choir of St. Mary's Church, Minersville.

Evelyn was an avid Philadelphia Phillies, and Penn State fan.

In addition to her husband, she is also survived by two daughters: Charlene, wife of Christopher Morgan, of Pine Grove; & Karen, wife of Shawn Schmitt, of Pottsville; son,Norman C. Tropp, of Pottsville; two grandchildren: Clarissa Evelyn Morgan, & Shea Christopher Morgan, both of Pine Grove, three sisters: Helena, wife of Robert Pogash, of Minersville; Mary Felty, of Pine Grove; & Janice McClintock, of Burlington, NJ, brother, Irvin, husband of Marie Drye, of St. Clair; brother-in-law, Ben Frantz, sister-in-law, Mary Ann Zurat, wife of Frank, several nieces & nephews, and beloved cat, Tigger.

In addition to her parents, Evelyn is also preceded in death by siblings: Edward L. Drye, Ann Smith, Florence Drye, Catherine Frantz, & Rita Geiger.

An evening viewing will be held from 5-7 PM Wednesday, October 16th at Ebling-Stabingas Funeral Home, Cressona.

A Catholic Funeral Service will be conducted at 10:30 AM on Thursday, October 17th at Ebling-Stabingas Funeral Home. An additional time for viewing will be held from 9:30 AM until the time of service.

Interment will follow at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.

At the family's request, memorial donations in Evelyn's name may be forwarded to Make a Wish Greater PA and WV, The Gulf Tower, 707 Grant St. 37th Floor, Pittsburgh, PA 15219, or an SPCA of the donor's choice, or Minersville Public Library, 220 S. 4th St., Minersville PA 17954.

Rose Marie Deffenbach McGinley, 83, of Holmes, PA, a former resident of Shenandoah, passed away on October 5, 2024.

She was born January 12, 1941 in Shenandoah, to the late Jose Mendez and Mary (Shinkowski) Baleizao.

Rose Marie spent many years as a Radiology Technologist at Thomas Jefferson Hospital and Main Line Health Radiology Departments.

She is survived by her loving husband, John McGinley, and many close friends who she always called family.

Private Interment services will be held at the Saint Stanislaus Roman Catholic Cemetery in Shenandoah Heights.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Fox Chase Cancer Center.

The Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, Inc., is in charge of the arrangements.

Caleb Vasura, 21, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away on Oct. 13, 2024 at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Pottsville, from injuries sustained in a car accident.

He was a graduate of Blue Mountain High School in 2022.

He is the son of George Vasura and stepmother, Laura, of Orwigsburg.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Patti Kistler Vasura and grandmother, Terry Fisher.

Surviving him are his Nana, Sandra Berger, of Schuylkill Haven, siblings, Cody and Madison Vasura, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was a young man with a beautiful generous big heart.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 21, 2024, at Grabowski Funeral Home in Schuylkill Haven. Services at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate any monetary donations to the Grabowski Funeral Home to help defray the expense of the funeral.
