Colleen Ann Mochnoc, age 81, of St. Clair, PA passed away Friday, October 18th, 2024 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest in Allentown.

Born in Pottsville, PA on October 17, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Leroy and Anna (Bunk) Evans.

Colleen was a graduate of Saint Clair High School, Class of 1961. She worked in the Human Resources Department at Van Heusen in Pottsville and Schuylkill Haven for 43 years. She was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church in St. Clair, where she was very active.

Colleen is survived by her husband of 54 years, Michael Mochnoc; two sisters-in-law: Elizabeth Riegel, Orwigsburg and Eleanor Bezos, Marco Island, FL; and nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church at 11AM on Wednesday, October 23rd, with Msgr. David James officiating.

Relatives and Friends are invited to a viewing on Wednesday morning from 9-11AM at the church.

Interment will be held private in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either the St. Clare of Assisi Church Memorial Fund, 250 East Hancock Street Saint Clair, PA 17970 or to the St. Michael's Russian Orthodox Church Memorial Fund, 106 North Morris Street Saint Clair, PA 17970.

With great sadness we announce the death of our beloved Mother and Nanny, Catherine C. Pfeiffer, of East High Street Coaldale, Pennsylvania who passed away peacefully on Friday, October 18, 2024, at Lehigh Valley Hospice in Allentown at 79 years of age.

Kate was born on Sunday, November 5, 1944 in Frenchtown, New Jersey. She was the daughter of the late Mildred Adelia Robbins and Oscar Carter Sands. Catherine was also predeceased by her brothers William Robbins and Oscar Richard Robbins.

Surviving are daughters, Mary Ann Flyzik of Coaldale, Rebecca Frank wife of Daniel of Allentown, Stephanie Young wife of Corey of Murrieta, Ca; companion Joseph "Moe" Burns of Coaldale; sister, Doreen Lilly of Bath; stepsons, Gary Pfeiffer and Richard Pfeiffer; grandchildren, Cameron Young, Jacob Weiksner, Justin Weiksner, Jordan Frank, Claire Frank, and Alice Frank.

A 1963 graduate of Delaware Valley Regional High School, Catherine received her associate's degree from the Allentown Business School. Catherine had worked at Koh-I-Noor in Bloomsbury, New Jersey. In later years she was employed by Tamaqua Family Practice, Carbon Surgical Associates, and Amazon.

Catherine enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed nights out to dinner, dancing, or attending a concert. Catherine especially looked forward to time spent with her family, visits to Stephanie’s house in California where she cultivated new friends while dog sitting. Kate and Moe had a nightly ritual of watching "Jeopardy", to which Kate professed to be the champion. Catherine’s beautiful spirit was reflected in her love for her animals, while she deeply missed her beloved dog Hollie, and cats Tigger, and Kitty Carlyle.

A Celebration of Catherine's Life will be held on Wednesday October 23, 2024 at 11 o'clock A.M. from the funeral home. Friends may visit 9:30 A.M. until the time of services.

Interment will be in Sky-View Memorial Park, Tamaqua, Pennsylvania.

Marie A. Socko, 77, of St. Clair , passed away Tuesday at her home.

Born in Pottsville, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Anna Shevokis Lescavage.

She was a graduate of Nativity BVM High School, Pottsville. She was a member of the former St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Minersville and a member of St. Matthew’s Church of Holy Family Parish. She was a volunteer with the local Red Cross.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death in 2022 by her husband Thomas Socko.

She is survived by her son Gary and his wife Jill, Pottsville and a

granddaughter, Isabel Socko.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 AM in St. Matthew’;s Church of Holy Family Parish, 139 Spruce St., Minersville. Rev. Leo J. Maletz will officiate. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Donald J. Butler Funeral Home, 328 Sunbury St., Minersville on Wednesday from 8:30 to 10:30 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Minersville Independent Hunting and Fishing Club, Big Hill Gun Club or the Minersville Fire Rescue, 300 North St, Minersville 17954. Contributions will also be accepted at the funeral home.

Kathryn J. "Kay" Shaw, 101 of Pottsville, died Thursday at Schuylkill Center.

She was born June 26, 1923, in Pottsville a daughter of the late John and Margie Johnson Shaw.

She was a 1942 graduate of Pottsville High School.

Kay worked for the Pottsville Republican prior to retiring in 1985.

Kay was the oldest member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville where she was part of Social Ministry, Prayer group and volunteered at the blood drive.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Elmer Shaw, Rhoda Usewicz, Joan Eberhardt, and Mary Murton.

Surviving are her nephew Bill Murton and his wife Pat; Charleston, SC; and dear friend, Kathy Bowden, Pottsville; nieces and nephews

Funeral Service will be held Monday Oct 28th at 11AM from Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 10AM until the time of services. Interment will follow in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions in memory of Kay be made to Trinity Lutheran Church 300 W. Arch St. Pottsville, PA 17901.

Arrangements are under the care of James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville.
