Born in Palo Alto, PA on July 19, 1928, he was the son of the late Daniel and Olive (Shadle) Bubeck Falls.
Ralph served in the U.S. Navy as a Seaman Second Class in the South Pacific Island Bikini Atol with scientists experimenting with the atomic bomb results during WWII. He worked as a truck driver for the Teamsters Local 429 in Reading. Ralph was a past President of the Cressona Fire Company #1 and past Seam Squirrel Pup Tent 76 of the Pottsville VFW Post 129. He was a member of the Military Order of the Cootie.
He was the last member of his immediate family, being preceded in death by his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of 16 years Edith M. (Bound) Falls in 1965, his second wife Carolyn M. (Mager) Ward Falls, grandson Richard Hughes, step-sons Dann and Darrell Ward, a step-granddaughter Heather Lewis, a step-great grandson Luke Ward Sechevich, brothers: John, Ray, Charles, William, Richard, and Wayne, and sisters: Elizabeth and Carrie.
Ralph is survived by sons: Dale and his wife Sandra and Ralph Jr. and his wife Joann; daughters: Yvonne, Elva (Ellie) and her husband John, and Debra and her husband Patrick; step-children: Dale and his wife Kathy, Dennis and wife Laurie,, and Dana; step daughter in law Laurie Naffin. His "hard" misdemeanor but yet giving heart he was also known by many friends and coworkers as "Rotten" Ralph, but to his 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 12 step grandchildren, 25 step great grandchildren he was their Pop, Pop-Pop and Great Pop. His caregiver Hope Barsky-Mosteller and their beloved pet puppy Darcey but as he called her Dorothy; and many nieces and nephews.
A Religious Service will be held at Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home, Port Carbon, on Wednesday October 9th at 11 AM, with Deacon John Setlock officiating.
Relatives and Friends are invited to a viewing on Wednesday morning from 9-11AM at the Funeral Home.
Interment with Military Honors will be held at Schuylkill Memorial Park Cemetery in Schuylkill Haven.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hillside SPCA P.O. Box 233 Pottsville, PA 17901.
Kathryn B. Coogan, R.N., 97 of Pottsville, died peacefully Sunday at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill, East Norwegian St., Pottsville
She was born March 31, 1927 in Cass Township, a daughter of the late Frank and Anna Manajlo Babilya.
She was a graduate of Cass Township High School and St. Joseph School of Nursing.
Prior to retiring she spent the majority of her nursing career at the former Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, Pottsville. During WWII, she was proud to serve with the Cadet Nurse Corps.
Kay was an active and devout member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville and volunteeredfor the American Red Cross Blood Drives.
She was preceded in death by her husband Daniel Coogan on October 13, 2000; her second husband Joseph Fry, on September 21, 2002; a son James Coogan; siblings, Nicholas Babilya, Frank Babilya, Anna Fatula, Michael Babilya, Mary Stabler, Martha McGovern, Helen Lawler; a son-in-law Edward Griegel.
Surviving are her children, Bernard Coogan and his wife Jill, Paoli; Dennis Coogan and his wife Barbara, Pottsville; Danita Griegel, Pottsville; Erin Bartolotta and her husband Joseph, Wilton, CT; Colleen Erwin and her husband David, Quakertown; Kimberly Coogan, Pottsville; 9 grandchildren, Stephen Griegeland his wife Catherine, Shannon Griegel, Elizabeth, Emily and Joseph Bartolotta, Danielle Coogan, Lea Coogan, Meghan Hardie and her husband Clay, Maile Erwin; 3 great-grandchildren, Daniel Hardie, Matthew and Daniel Chacon; nieces and nephews.
Her love of travel and vacations was surpassed only by her love of walks with Kim and time spent with her children and grandchildren at the many family gatherings.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday Oct 15, at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville. Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 9:30AM until the time of mass. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Pottsville. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions in memory of Kay be made to either Habilitation Inc of Schuylkill County, 1755 W. Market St. Pottsville, PA 17901 or the American Red Cross, PO Box 37839, Boone, IA 50037-0839.

Ryan M. Oravec, 32, of Andreas, passed away on Monday, October 7, 2024, in Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia. He was employed as a computer programmer and analyst for LexisNexis.

Todd D. "Gumby" Kreiser, Sr., 62, of Moyer St., Pine Grove, passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at home.
Born on November 2, 1961 in Pottsville, he was a son of Brenda F. Adams Kreiser of Pine Grove and the late Norman D. Kreiser, Sr.
Todd was a laborer and had worked for Bell & Evans, Pennfield, Masser's, Burger King and the Tremont Health & Rehab Center.
He enjoyed shopping, watching NASCAR, especially Bill Elliott, and was a Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Orioles fan.
Surviving are three sons, Todd Kreiser, Jr., Timothy Kreiser, and Tyler Pridemore, all of Pine Grove; four grandchildren, Kaedyn Kreiser, Karter Flaim, MaKenzie Pridemore and Miranda Pridemore; two step daughters, Tiffany Herring of Pine Grove, Jenny Beach of Lebanon; a step granddaughter, Diane Herring; two brothers, Norman Kreiser, Jr., Scott and wife Theresa Kreiser, both of Schuylkill Haven.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Noon at the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Grove, with Pastor Barry Spatz officiating. There will be a viewing on Saturday, October 12, 2024 from 10:00 A.M. until Noon at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Hetzel's Cemetery, Pine Grove.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 312 S. Tulpehocken St., Pine Grove, PA 17963 in his memory.
Dolores A. Smedley, 86, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Sunday, October 6th, at the Gardens of York Terrace, Pottsville.
Born in Pottsville on November 29, 1937, she was the daughter of the late William and Doris (Sweigert) Mickshaw.
Dolores was the widow of her first husband, Junie Reichert and second husband, Harry Smedley.
She was employed by Lucent Technologies in Reading where she worked on microprocessors.
She was a member of Church of The Nazarene, Schuylkill Haven.
Dolores is survived by a daughter, Vicki, wife of Thomas Haag; a son, Gerald Reichert; a step daughter, Shaun Madary; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husbands, Dolores is preceded in death by a brother, John Mickshaw and two infant sisters.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 AM on Monday, October 14th at Geschwindt Stabingas Ebling Funeral Home, Inc., Schuylkill Haven with Rev. Josh Ott officiating. A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the start of the service. Interment will be private at the family's convenience.
At the family's request, memorial donations may be forwarded to Church of the Nazarene, 220 West Main St. Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972.
Bernice A. Monger, 97, of Wyomissing, formerly of Pine Grove, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024 in the Reading Hospital, West Reading.
Born on March 26, 1927 in Summit Station, she was a daughter of the late John J. and Florence R. Schaeffer Fessler.
She was a 1945 graduate of Pine Grove Area High School.
Bernice had worked for Guilford Mills in Pine Grove.
She was a member of St. Peter's UCC, Pine Grove.
Preceding her in death were her husband of 66 years, Earl N. Monger; a sister, Ruth Hummel; three brothers, Guy Fessler, Sr., Carl Fessler, and Irvin "Bull" Fessler.
Surviving are her son, Gary and wife Patricia Monger of Leesport; a granddaughter, Hillary Monger; a great grandchild, Ezra Fowler; and a sister, Barbara Rehrer of Pine Grove.
All Services will be held at the convenience of the family with Pastor Barry Spatz officiating. Interment will be in the Summer Hill Cemetery, Schuylkill Haven.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions be made to St. Peter's United Church of Christ, 277 S. Tulpehocken St., Pine Grove, Pa. 17963 in her memory.
