On Saturday evening, St. Joseph’s Center for Special Learning hosted its annual Gala at Mountain Valley in Barnesville.
Themed “Imagine the Possibilities,” the event inspired attendees to dream big and reach for the stars. Over 100 people, including students, families, staff, teachers, and donors, gathered for the heartwarming celebration.
School Principal Bob Giba served as the evening’s emcee, guiding the program that showcased the incredible talent and dedication within the St. Joseph’s community.
The evening included a presentation and performance by the students, who sang and danced to “I Can Only Imagine”.
Following a delicious dinner, the event continued with a live auction, a presentation of scholarships, recognition of honorees, and heartfelt testimonials from the school community. A major highlight was the announcement of a new sensory room, set to be installed at the school’s location in the former St. Ambrose School in Schuylkill Haven. The sensory room promises to enhance the learning environment for students with special needs, providing them with a space tailored to their unique sensory and developmental needs.
This year’s honorees were recognized for their exceptional contributions:
- Faith and Service Award: Mr. and Mrs. Glen Ebert of the Walton-Ebert Insurance Agency were honored for their outstanding and continued service to St. Joseph’s Center.
- Legacy of Caring Award: Nadine Elenchin, a dedicated staff member, received this award for her positive impact on the lives of students, adults, and families at St. Joseph’s.
- St. Joseph’s Center for Special Learning Scholarship: This year’s scholarship was awarded to Elina Muniz, recognizing her commitment to academic and personal growth.
