Learn the Art of Boilo-Making at the Historical Society
The Schuylkill County Historical Society will also host two boilo-making classes on Thursday, Nov. 14, and Thursday, Dec. 12, both beginning at 6 p.m. Boilo, a warm, spiced alcoholic beverage rooted in the local tradition in the coal region, is especially popular during the winter months. This hands-on workshop will allow participants to learn about the drink’s history and make their own batches.
Each class is $30 for Society members and $35 for non-members, and samples will be provided.
To secure a spot for the boilo-making classes, advance reservations are required. Interested participants should contact the Schuylkill County Historical Society directly at 570-622-7540.
