Driver with Suspended License Cited After Failing to Stop, Causing Collision in Pottsville

A Pottsville intersection crash Tuesday led to citations for a suspended driver who failed to stop, leaving one injured and a vehicle disabled.

According to Pottsville Police, on Tuesday, October 29th, 2024, at 2:53pm Pottsville Police Officers were dispatched to the area of Terry Reiley Way and Nichols Street for a report of a motor vehicle accident.

After conducting an investigation, it was determined Daniel Roman, of Ashland, was driving a Gray Buick Lacrosse South on Terry Reiley Way. Roman approached the intersection being controlled by a stop sign, however, Roman did not stop and proceeded into the intersection.

After Roman entered the intersection, a Gray Mitsubishi, being driven by a female, was traveling East on Nichols Street and struck Roman’s vehicle. The two vehicles collided in the middle of the intersection, leaving the Mitsubishi disabled in the middle of the roadway and needing to be towed from the scene.

Schuylkill EMS later arrived for suspected minor injury to the female driver and she was transported to a nearby hospital.

Police learned Roman had a suspended driver’s license and also reviewed nearby camera footage showing Roman did not come to a complete stop at the stop sign. Ptlm. Delinko filed traffic citations on Roman for Driving While Suspended and Duty at Stop Signs.
