A Frackville man has been charged with multiple offenses, including aggravated assault and terroristic threats, following a domestic incident involving a firearm early Monday morning, according to court documents.
Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville responded to a call just before 3:00 a.m. at the 200 Block of South Nice Street. They found a female victim who reported that the father of her child, 33-year-old Jarih Martinez-Fermin of Frackville, had arrived at her home around 12:45 a.m. and began banging on her front door.
When the victim opened the door, Martinez-Fermin forced his way into the house, confronted the victim's male friend in the kitchen, and pointed a gun at him. A 2-year-old child was also present in the kitchen during the confrontation.
By the time troopers arrived, Martinez-Fermin had fled the scene. Through their investigation, police determined that he had gone to the Motel 6 on Altamont Boulevard in West Mahanoy Township. Authorities took him into custody there at approximately 7:30 a.m.
Martinez-Fermin was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Edward Tarantelli, who set bail at $50,000 straight cash. He was released later that day after posting bail.
Martinez-Fermin faces charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, three counts of recklessly endangering another person, terroristic threats, and harassment. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for December 4th, 2024, before Judge Tarantelli.
