Minor Injuries Reported After Tri-Axle Rollover in Gilberton

Minor injuries were reported after a tri-axle rollover in Gilberton last week.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, the crash occurred around 6:30am on Thursday, October 24th, 2024 on the turn on Gilberton Road near the intersection with Shaft Street.

Troopers say Vincent Madonna, 55, of Port Carbon was driving his Mack Truck Tri-Axle eastbound on Gilberton Road and attempted to negotiate the share left curve in the roadway.  

Madonna's truck travelled onto the shoulder and off the roadway, striking a utility pole, then overturning onto its right side.

Madonna needed help from firefighters to get out of the truck and was transported by Schuylkill EMS for minor injuries.

The truck sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene by JRL Towing.

Madonna will be cited for the crash.

Assisting at the scene were firefighters from the Gilberton Fire Company and the West End Fire and Rescue from Mahanoy City.

Information on the crash was released from PSP on October 31st, 2024
