North Schuylkill High School’s annual Pink Out event brought together the community for a powerful cause on October 18 during the Spartans' home football game.
Organized by seniors Claire Kowalonek and Megan Bane, this year's event continued its tradition of promoting breast cancer awareness while raising funds for local individuals battling the disease.
This year, the event raised $6,500 in total, with $3,250 donated to Jade Barlow, a Schuylkill County resident bravely facing stage 3 breast cancer. The remaining $3,250 went to Lehigh Valley Hospital Schuylkill, specifically for gas station gift cards to assist local breast cancer patients with transportation costs for their medical appointments.
The event not only highlighted the resilience of breast cancer fighters like Barlow but also emphasizes the spirit of empathy and service that defines North Schuylkill High School.
