The Pottsville Free Public Library is set to receive 30 new laptops through Pennsylvania's Digital Connectivity Technology Program (DCTP), as announced by State Senator Dave Argall (R-29) and Representative Tim Twardzik (R-123).
This initiative, part of a broader push to improve digital access across the state, aims to address affordability barriers that prevent communities from utilizing high-speed internet.
“High-speed internet is an absolute necessity in today’s world,” said Senator Argall. “I’m grateful that these devices will support the mission of the Pottsville Free Public Library to make knowledge accessible to everyone.”
Representative Twardzik highlighted the importance of technology in fostering education and professional growth. “The Pottsville Free Public Library plays a vital role in connecting our community to valuable resources,” he stated. “These laptops will help expand educational and professional opportunities, ensuring that residents can stay connected in an increasingly digital world.”
Funded by $20 million in federal support, the DCTP focuses on equipping community institutions such as libraries, schools, and non-profits with the necessary technology to increase broadband access and promote digital literacy.
