Born in Friedensburg on May 29, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Russell A. & Vera E. (Rhine) Herring.
Married 57 years, Nancy was the beloved wife of James Walter Wingert.
She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, Schuylkill Haven.
Nancy was a graduate of Blue Mountain High School.
She had worked as a secretary and ran Senior Centers around Schuylkill County, but her favorite job was working as an activities director for local nursing homes.
Nancy loved crafting, especially scrapbooking. She enjoyed attending the knitting group at St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Summer Hill, Auburn.
In addition to her husband, she is also survived by her daughters: Jacquelynn Baver, wife of Irvin, of Pottsville, and Juli Riegel, widow of Rob, of North Carolina, grandchildren: Justin & Danielle Baver, of Pottsville, James & William Riegel, or North Carolina, Victoria Krumanocker, of Schuylkill Haven, & Roy Koch, Jr., of New Philadelphia, and great-grandchildren: Rebecca Koch, Annalee Krumanocker, Lainey Riegel, and identical twins due in April, 2025, and her sister, Barbara Edington, of Florida.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, November 23rd at St. James Episcopal Church, Schuylkill Haven, with The Rev. Dr. Kurt K. Kovalovich officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 AM until the time of service at the church.
Interment will be private.
The family prefers remembrances in the form of contributions to St. James Episcopal Church, 100 Dock St., PO Box 603, Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972.

Dean A. Dewald, 67, of Auburn, passed away Wednesday, November 13th, at Penn Medicine Hospital, Philadelphia.
Born in Pottsville on October 4, 1957, he was a son of the late Russell & Charlotte (Readinger) Dewald.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his sister, Gail Jones.
He had been employed by Ebinger Iron Works as a welder.
Dean was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ Summer Hill, Auburn.
He enjoyed walking.
Dean is survived by his sister, Dawn M. Mattes, wife of William, of Harrisburg, and nieces & nephews.
Services will be privately held at the convenience of the family.

Theodore E Schwartz, age 83, of Hegins, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2024 at his residence.
He was born on Thursday, June 26, 1941, in Hegins, a son of the late William H Schwartz and the late Goldie A (Kimmel) Schwartz.
Ted was a 1959 graduate of Tri-Valley High School. He was an active FFA member and a member of the high school baseball team.
He served in the Army reserves in the 131st Engineers.
Ted worked at Agway Sacramento, Spread Eagle Farms, and then at Michaels Foods until his retirement. He was the proud business owner of Schwartz Farms Fancy Fruits and Produce.
After retirement Ted continued his hobby of raising strawberries, sweet corn, and tomatoes. He also enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family.
He was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ, Hegins.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Russell, Irvin, Richard, and Chester Schwartz, and two sisters, Phyllis Coleman and Betty Readinger.
He is survived by his wife Katie V (Reiner) Schwartz, to whom he was married for 58 years.
He is also survived by two sons, Darin M Schwartz and his wife Cynthia of Klingerstown and Derrick A Schwartz and his wife Nicole of Klingerstown; a daughter, Dana L Shope and her husband Matthew of Duncannon; five grandchildren, Maria Casey, Eliza Schwartz, Robert Schwartz, Tristan Schwartz, and Ava Shope; a great grandson, Atlas Casey; two brothers, Frank Schwartz and David Schwartz; two sisters, Gloria Kroh and Patricia Moyer; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Inc, Valley View, on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Michael C Klahr officiating.
A viewing will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Friedens Cemetery, Hegins.
