He was born in Pottsville to the late Paul Butz, Sr. and late Jane (Aylmer) Butz.
He attended Saint Ambrose School.
He enlisted in the Army (69-71) serving in the Vietnam War.
He lived in the Cressona/Schuylkill Haven Area and Reading Area prior to moving to the Bocca Ratton, FL area 30 years ago. It was there that he met the love of his life Susan Gould, with whom he would spend the rest of his life with.
He enjoyed reading, golfing, tennis, traveling, building things, and all outdoor activities. Dennis will be remembered for his great sense of humor and his outgoing personality.
Dennis is survived by children Christine Haraschak, Mt. Penn; Kelly Fink, Shoemakersville; and Dennis Butz, Minersville; siblings Richard “Bupper” Butz (Sandie), Jacksonville, FL; Mary Jane “Suzie” Regel (Bob) Green Cove Springs, FL and Kevin “Snooker” Butz (Tina), Pottsville, PA; 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Interment with military honors will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at 12:30 PM on Tuesday, November 12, 2024.

Margaret Ann "Marge" Lowthert, 82, a resident of Minersville, passed away peacefully in her home on November 4, 2024.
Marge was born in Philadephia on February 21, 1942, a daughter of the late James and Mildred (Eckert) Harley.
She was a 1959 graduate of the Pottsville High School and was retired, having worked as a secretary.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Joseph James Lowthert.
Surviving are her son, James W. Lowthert; daughter, Susan L., wife of Robert Wentz, Jr.; grandchildren, Jessica, wife of Matthew Paulis, Kirk Gottschall and his wife Nicole; step granddaughter, Kaylei Wentz. She is also survived by three great grandsons, Wyatt, Jackson, and Brooks. 2 brothers, James W. Harley and his wife Barbara and William E. Harley and his wife Debra survive, along with nieces and nephews.
Private services have been entrusted to the Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, 515 West Market Street, Pottsville.

Mr. Charles T. "Chick" Trusky, 94, of Mahanoy City, entered eternal rest with our Lord on November 4, 2024.
Charles was born in Mahanoy City, to the late John and Margaret (Brennan) Trusky. He was raised in Hills Patch.
He served as an Army Combat Engineer during the Korean War from January 1952 to December 1953. He was preceded in death by his wife Lydia (Silveri) Trusky in 2016. They married on February 4, 1951 and were together for 65 years. Also preceded in death by brothers Jim, Jack and Thomas and sisters Mary and Margaret. Chick was a 1949 graduate of Mahanoy City High School where he excelled in football and baseball for the Maroons. He was a skilled machinist in many places including Parish Steel, Bear Ridge, Beryllium and for the last 20 years at Herman Schaub in West Hazleton.
A devout Catholic and member of St. Teresa of Calcutta Church in Mahanoy City. He could always be found daily in the St. Teresa Adoration Chapel in prayer and devotion to our Lord. Chick was a member of the American legion, Disabled American Veterans and the Elks Club. He volunteered many years coaching football for the Delano Colts, Vikings and Tri County League.
His interests were fishing, hunting, hiking, saving the Monarch Butterflies, bird watching and served as the county Blue Bird Society coordinator. A master gardener , antique bottle collector, a member of the Elk's dart league, Mahanoy Football Alumni, and a founding member of the Men's Adult Softball League. An avid Philadelphia Eagles fan attending many games with his daughter Diane and husband Scott. Chick loved his hometown and his youthful days at Lakewood and Lakeside parks with his beloved wife Lydia. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Surviving are two daughters, Diane Hudson and her husband Scott of Barnesville, Lydia Kelly and her husband Alvin of Pottsville and son Jim Trusky and wife Lila of Orwigsburg. Grandchildren Anthony Kelly, Jessi, Jenna and J.T. Trusky.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated by the Rev. Kevin P. Gallagher on Tuesday morning at 11 AM from St. Teresa of Calcutta Church in Mahanoy City.
Interment with military honors will follow in Sacred Heart cemetery in Mahanoy Township. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday beginning at 9 AM until time of Mass. Contributions in his name to St. Teresa of Calcutta Church Memo: Perpetual Adoration Chapel would be appreciated and will be accepted at the visitation.
