Shenandoah Teen Accused of Stealing Nearly $10K from St. Clair Walmart

A Shenandoah woman is facing theft charges for allegedly stealing over $9,000 from the St. Clair Walmart while she was employed there.

According to St. Clair Police, Lona Smith, 18, of Shenandoah is facing charges after they received a complaint from Walmart Asset Protection regarding a case of stolen money.

An investigation was opened, and a multi-month investigation led to the finding that Smith, while employed at the store, stole $9,841 in cash between July 19th, 2024, and August 18th, 2024.

Saint Clair Police say Smith will be charged with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.
