Shenandoah, PA – The Shenandoah Valley School District will sound smooth on November 15 and 16, 2024, as it hosts the 1st Annual Schuylkill County Jazz Band Festival.
This new event will bring together top student musicians from eight Schuylkill County high schools, including Blue Mountain, Mahanoy Area, North Schuylkill, Pine Grove Area, Pottsville Area, Shenandoah Valley, Tri-Valley, and Williams Valley.
The festival will showcase a talented 24-piece jazz ensemble featuring saxophones, trumpets, trombones, bass, guitar, drums, and piano. These musicians will spend Friday rehearsing under the guidance of guest director Mr. Dustin Shirk, the Director of Bands at Kutztown Area School District, as they prepare for a performance.
On Saturday, November 16, at 12 p.m., the ensemble will take the stage in the Shenandoah Valley High School Auditorium to present a concert for the community. Tickets are available at the door for $5, and the event is open to the public.
