Stolen Purse Leads to Theft Charges in St. Clair

A St. Clair man is facing theft charges after he allegedly stole a purse from a vehicle in the borough.

According to St. Clair Police, a borough resident reported to police that her purse was stolen from her vehicle while it was parked in the 100 Block of North 2nd Street on October 24th, 2024.  The purse and its contents were valued at approximately $150.00.

With the help of video surveillance, a police investigation revealed that Tyler Reid Jones 32, of St. Clair entered the vehicle and removed the purse.

On October 30th, 2024, St. Clair police charged Jones with theft from a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property and unlawful taking.

Jones will appear before Magisterial District Judge David Plachko on December 3rd, 2024 for a preliminary hearing.
