Volunteers Decorate Ashland’s Christmas Tree Ahead of Upcoming Holiday Events

This past weekend, Ashland's holiday spirit began to shine as several community organizations joined forces to prepare the borough’s Christmas tree for the season.

The 2024 Ashland Christmas Tree, generously donated by Charlie and Lisa Malloy from their Zion Grove property, was gifted to the Ashland Rotary.

On Saturday, the Concolor Fir was transported to the intersection of Centre Street and Hoffman Boulevard. With some effort and teamwork, the tree was upright and ready for its festive transformation.

On Sunday, the decorating began. Volunteers from the Ashland Rotary, the Ashland Historical Society, and the Washington Hook and Ladder Company worked together to adorn the tree with lights. The finishing touch was the placement of a shining star at the top.

The community will officially welcome the holiday season on Saturday, November 30th, 2024, when the tree is lit following Ashland’s annual Santa Parade. The parade will step off at 6:00 p.m. from 21st and Walnut Streets, following Walnut Street to Hoffman Boulevard and concluding at the Mother's Memorial.

Children are encouraged to bring their letters to Santa, as the jolly man himself will have his special North Pole mailbox with him. After the parade, Santa will meet with children at the Mother’s Memorial to hear their Christmas wishes.

Ashland's Old-Fashioned Christmas will take place on Saturday, December 7th, 2024, and will be a day filled with holiday events.
