WEATHER ALERT: Winter Storm Warning Issued for Schuylkill County


The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Schuylkill County.
WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 4 PMEST FRIDAY... 

 WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total accumulations between 5 and 12 inches, with the highest amounts on the ridgetops. Lower elevations could see 3 to 5 inches of snow accumulations. 

* WHERE...Northern Lycoming, Potter, Schuylkill, and Tioga Counties. 

* WHEN...From 4 PM this afternoon to 4 PM EST Friday. 

* IMPACTS...The strong winds and weight of snow on tree limbs may down power lines and could cause sporadic power outages. Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday evening and Friday morning commutes.
