Winter Storm Watch Issued for Schuylkill County
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Schuylkill County.
WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH FRIDAY AFTERNOON...
* WHAT...Heavy wet snow possible. Total snow accumulations 6 inches
or more possible at and above 1500 feet elevation.
* WHERE...This alert covers Schuylkill, Sullivan, and Tioga Counties.
* WHEN...From Thursday afternoon through Friday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...The strong winds and weight of snow on tree limbs may
down power lines and could cause sporadic power outages. Plan on
slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact
the Thursday evening and Friday morning commutes.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The heavy snow is most likely at elevations
above 1500 feet. Lower elevations and valley locations will likely
receive significantly less snow.
