Winter Weather Blamed for West Mahanoy Township Collision on Route 924



Minor injuries were reported in a crash on Route 924 in West Mahanoy Township on Friday morning.

According to West Mahanoy Township Police, on Friday, November 22nd, 2024, Township Police were dispatched to Route 924/Ringtown Blvd/Shenandoah Highway for a two-vehicle crash, with one vehicle off in the ditch the other one still on the roadway, fluids and possible minor injury.

Police and Shenandoah Community Ambulance responded to the scene of the crash.

Both drivers were treated for minor injuries, both refused transport to the hospital.

An investigation revealed that the driver of the blue Saturn SUV was traveling south, when the driver lost control on the snow/slush covered highway, steered into the path of white Jeep Compass, 

The driver of the white Jeep Compass attempted to avoid the crash, but both vehicles collided sending the White Jeep compass into the ditch.

Both vehicles suffered heavy to moderate damage, both vehicles were Towed by Steve's Towing.

West Mahanoy Township Police was assisted at the scene by Shenandoah Heights Fire, Shenandoah Community Ambulance and Steve's towing.
