A dramatic police pursuit spanning multiple counties ended in the arrest of a Chicago man on Monday, with charges ranging from attempted homicide to burglary and theft.
The incident began Monday morning in Butler Township, Luzerne County, when police attempted to stop a stolen vehicle. The driver, identified as 32-year-old Isaac D. Cintron of Chicago, Illinois, fled the area, abandoning the vehicle before firing shots and escaping on foot.
Shortly thereafter, Cintron allegedly committed a home invasion nearby, stealing another vehicle and reigniting the pursuit.
The chase extended into Schuylkill County, where state and local authorities deployed spike strips in Rush Township along Route 54 to disable the stolen vehicle. Cintron ultimately crashed and was taken into custody.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, no shots were fired by law enforcement during the incident, and officials emphasized that there was no immediate threat to the public during the pursuit.
