Early Morning Shenandoah Fire Ruled Arson

An early morning fire in Shenandoah has been ruled arson.

At 1:44am, emergency personnel were called to a house fire at 208 Pioneer Road, Shenandoah in the Shenandoah Family Development.

The initial dispatch reported a couch was fire inside the unit.

The first units on scene confirmed heavy smoke coming from the living quarters and confirmed a couch was on fire.

According to Shenandoah Fire Chief, the fire was contained to the unit where two people lived, but both were not home at the time of the fire.

Chief Examitas along with a Pennsylvania Fire Marshal were on scene Tuesday and ruled the fire was not accidental and is a case of arson.

The investigation is still ongoing.
