Emergency Personnel at Scene of Multi-Alarm House Fire in Norwegian Township

Emergency personnel are responding to a working fire in Norwegian Township Sunday evening.

The dispatch came in around 5:30pm for a report of a house fire at 315 Minersville Street in Seltzer, Norwegian Township.

Minersville Fire Chief Eric Eichenberg was first to arrive and reported a well involved fire in the rear of the home.

A 2nd alarm was dispatched.

About 10 minutes into the call, firefighters were advised to evacuate, and a mayday was issued after 2 firefighters were unaccounted for.

The mayday was cleared several minutes later and everyone was accounted for.

UPDATE:  6:45pm, Chief Eichenberg has requested an immediate response from a State Police Fire Marshal and the Schuylkill County Coroner's Office.
