A Girardville man was charged Friday for allegedly making a threat at the Schuylkill County Assistance Office in Pottsville.
Police arrived on scene and made contact George Mitchell, 42, of Girardville.
During the investigation police found that while he was there talking with staff, Mitchell made a comment stating “I’m going to blow this place up.” This caused staff to become alarmed and call police.
Mitchell was taken into custody and charged with one count of terroristic threats, one count of disorderly conduct, and possession of a controlled substance.
Mitchell was arraigned by on-call Magisterial District Judge David Plachko, who set bail at $10,000 unsecured and Mitchell was released from custody.
