The Minersville Area Boys Basketball team started their season with a victory on Tuesday night, defeating the Shenandoah Valley Blue Devils 54-33.
The Miners stormed out of the gate in the first quarter, building a commanding 20-11 lead. By halftime, the Battlin’ Miners wereleading 29-16.
Shenandoah Valley fought back in the third quarter, making adjustments to close the gap slightly. Despite their efforts, Minersville continued to control the tempo, outscoring the Blue Devils 16-12 in the quarter to extend their lead to 45-28.
The Miners capped off a dominant performance with a decisive 54-33 victory.
