Interstate 81 northbound is being shut down due to a tractor trailer crash early Tuesday.
The crash occurred around 1:00am and involved a tractor trailer crash that left a lot of debris all over the highway near mile marker 117 (just north of the Minersville exit)
Emergency personnel responded to the scene as well as to Exit 116 (Minersville Exit) to shut down the Interstate.
Early reports were the highway is expected to be closed for an extended period of time due to the highway being blocked.
The driver was reported to have severe injuries, and a helicopter was put on standby for transport.
Fire units from Frackville, Englewood, and Minersville are at the scene.
