Saint Clair Police have filed animal cruelty charges against a man.
On November 6th, 2024, borough police were called to 30 North Mill Street to assist borough code enforcement with evicting a resident from a home that was being condemned.
Officers found a female dog in the home that was extremely underweight to the point its skeletal frame was visible. The dog's nails were so long they were curling under her paws causing her to limp in pain.
The entire home was found to be covered in urine and feces and the kennel were the dog slept had 2-3 inches of fecal matter on the floor.
No food or water were found to be available for the dog.
As a result, on December 6th, 2024, St. Clair Police charged Donald Paul Long, 64, with cruelty to animals and neglect of an animal.
