A Minersville man is facing charges after an alleged domestic dispute in Frackville.
According to Frackville Police, on Monday, December 16th, 2024, around 11:20pm, borough police were dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of North Nice Street for a report of a Domestic Disturbance that was no longer in progress.
Upon arrival, Officers spoke with a t22-year-old female victim who told officers that she and her boyfriend, Syphar Pittman, 20, of Minersville, were in a physical altercation because she discovered that he was communicating with other women.
Officers could see bruising and abrasions to the victim’s neck area and upper left arm. The victim also stated that these occurred as she was being grabbed by the throat by Pittman, however not restricting her airflow. Pittman had fled the area prior to police arriving.
A criminal complaint was completed by Frackville Patrolman Noah Marx, requesting a warrant of arrest, charging Pittman with Simple Assault and Harassment, pursuant to Domestic Violence.
Pittman was later located and taken into custody with assistance from Minersville Police.
After custody of Pittman was transferred to Frackville Police, a preliminary arraignment was held before on call Magisterial District Judge Stephen Bayer and bail was set at $5,000 unsecured.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled before Magisterial District Judge Edward Tarantelli on January 8th, 2025.
