A Pottsville man is locked up in Schuylkill County Prison on assault charges for attacking a man with a knife and biting his ear.
Police arrived in the area and were unable to locate the caller and got a call back number from dispatch. Police then made contact with the caller who said that there was a male in the 400 block of East Market that had lacerations to his face. The caller relayed that 31-year-old Albert Constanzo of Pottsville, used a knife on the victim and that he was possibly out front of the residence and armed with the knife.
Police then made contact with the 36-year-old victim who had injuries to the left side of his face. The victim told police that Constanzo had cut his face with a knife and bit part of his left ear off. The victim was transported to the Hospital by Schuylkill EMS for his injuries.
During the investigation police located the knife used in the assault, as well as a piece of the victim’s ear.
Constanzo was taken into custody in the area a short time later.
Constanzo was charged with two counts of aggravated assault (F1, F2), Possession of an instrument of a crime (M1), two counts simple assault(M2) and harassment summary offense.
Constanzo was the arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Reiley and locked up in Schuylkill County Prison on $25,000 straight cash bail.
Constanzo was taken into custody in the area a short time later.
