Santa Claus made his grand entrance into Veterans Memorial Field in Shenandoah on Friday, marking the 17th Annual Skydiving Santa event, proudly sponsored by Mrs. T's Pierogies.
Despite some flurries in the air, excitement soared as Santa, accompanied by his two trusty elves, took to the skies for a parachute jump into Shenandoah Valley's Veterans Memorial Stadium. The spectacle captivated children and adults alike from across Schuylkill County, who gathered eagerly to witness this holiday tradition.
Mrs. Claus, arrived at the stadium before Santa's arrival to meet with kids. They mingled with the crowd, spreading Christmas cheer and setting the perfect stage for Santa's daring descent.
Dave Smith from Spinjammers served as master of ceremonies, keeping the crowd entertained and updated on Santa's location throughout the event.
Upon landing, Santa Claus received a hero’s welcome with a lively parade. The procession, led by the Shenandoah Police, Fire Department, and the Shenandoah Valley Band, escorted Santa through the streets to Shenandoah Borough Hall. There, he greeted children, posed for photos, and asked them what they wanted for Christmas.
