A Schuylkill County man is free on bail after being charged with sharing explicit images of children on the internet.
According to court papers, Gary Hysock Jr., 36, of Cumbola, has been charged by the Pennsylvania State Police with possessing child pornography, disseminating photos children involving sexual acts, and criminal use of a communication facility.
Court papers show that earlier this year, online applications KIK and MeetMe reported to that National Center for Missing and Exploited Children of several users that were exploiting children through their apps.
An investigation led to a mobile device owned by Hysock, and a search warrant would be executed this at his home where the device was seized.
During a 1st interview, Hysock originally denied sharing the images. After the mobile device was reviewed by investigators, Hysock admitted to sharing the images.
On Tuesday, Hysock was taken into custody and arraigned by Magisterial District Judge David Plachko on the above charges and locked up in Schuylkill County Prison on $150,000 straight cash bail.
Hysock spent one night in prison and posted bail on Wednesday through a professional bondsman.
Hysock is scheduled to appear being Judge Plachko on January 28th, 2024, for a preliminary hearing.
