Julia A. (Hutta) Boyle
, 94 of Coaldale, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Friday, December 13, 2024, at St. Luke's Miners Memorial in Coaldale, Pennsylvania.

Born Monday, July 21, 1930 in Coaldale, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Paul, and Mary (Hrdlica) Hutta. Julia was also predeceased by; beloved husband, Joseph A. Boyle on April 29, 2014; granddaughter, Tara Miradella; sisters, Theresa Hankey, Betty Weicker; brothers, Joe, and Paul Hutta; daughter-in-law Jane Boyle.

Surviving are; daughters, Susan M. Lopata wife of Michael, Mary K. Horvath wife of Frank; sons, Joseph D. Boyle and his wife Mary, Thomas P Boyle; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren.

A graduate of the former St. Mary's R.C.C. High School of Coaldale, where she and her late husband of 63 years Joe were high school sweethearts. Julia was honored at graduation with the American Legion award for 'Outstanding Student', Julia earned her L.P.N. certification from Carbon County Vocational School and served as an L.P.N. at the former Coaldale State Hospital and Miners Memorial Medical Ctr. in Coaldale for many years.

An active member of the former St. Mary's R.C.C. of Coaldale, Julia served on the Women's Guild as Secretary and Treasurer. Julia was a member of St. John's XXIII R.C.C. of Tamaqua. An avid reader, Julia enjoyed fictional mysteries, doing word puzzles, and traveling with Joe throughout the United States, Canada, and traveling overseas to Ireland. Julia was so appreciative that she was able to escort her parents to their homeland of Slovakia before they passed away.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday December 19, 2024 at 10 o'clock A.M. from The Parish of St. John XXIII R.C.C. 307 Pine Street Tamaqua, Pennsylvania 18252. Friends may call on Wednesday evening December 18, 2024 at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., and on the morning of services from 8:30 A.M. until 9:30 A.M.

The St. Luke's Nurse's honor Guard will provide their Memorial Service on Wednesday evening. Memorials in Julia's name to:

Olga P. McSurdy
, 97, of Pottsville, passed away, with her family present, on Friday, December 6th at Luther Ridge, Pottsville.

Born in Cumbola, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Julia Straka Pelachick.

She was a member of St. Nicholas Ukranian Catholic Church, Minersville. She was a graduate of the former Blythe Twp. High School, New Philadelphia and the Ford School of Business, Pottsville. She worked as a book keeper at the ILGWU, Pottsville and at the former Detroiter Mobile Home Manufacturer, Schuylkill Haven.

She was a volunteer with the American Heart Association, a supporter of the Pottsville Library and the Hillside SPCA and was a kitchen volunteer at the St. Nicholas summer picnics where food preparation was her specialty..

In earlier times she traveled to other states and countries with her husband and friends. She enjoyed western dance and music and dining out with family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John, and brothers, John, Michael, Phillip, Joseph, Stephen, Theodore, Thomas, Andrew and Nicholas. She was the last member of her immediate family.

She is survived by a daughter, Margaret (Peg) A. McSurdy Moran and her husband, Alan V. Renish; a son John (Jack) and his wife Mary (Jones) Mcsurdy; 2 grandsons, Craig Moran and Michael Tobin; nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Schuylkill Memorial Park Cemetery, Schuylkill Haven. The family requests contributions in Olga’s name to either St. Nicholas Ukranian Church School,

415 Front St. Minersville or to the Hillside SPCA, 51 SPCA Road, Pottsville , Pa. .
