Grace Jean Kopko (Yurenko), 98 of Orwigsburg, passed away peacefully, Saturday, December 14, at Providence Place Retirement Community in Pottsville.Grace was born on September 16, 1926, daughter of Edna and Charles Noecker. She was the widow of Edward Kopko.
Grace is survived by her daughter, Debbie, granddaughter, Lisa, brother, Sterling and beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to her first husband Harry Yurenko, Grace is predeceased by her son Bradley Yurenko , and her siblings Evelyn Houser, Eleanor Schwenk, Kenneth Noecker and Lester Noecker.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date at Hamilton-Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. in Orwigsburg, PA

James Bynon, 81, of Lebanon, died on Sunday, December 15, 2024, in Lebanon. He was the husband of Marsha (Valentine) Bynon with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage before her death in 2021.
Born in Tamaqua, Jim was a son of the late William and Virginia (Walker) Bynon. He graduated from Tamaqua High School in 1961 and served from 1962 to 1966 as a United States Air Force medic during the Vietnam War. Jim worked for the Tonolli Corporation in Nesquehoning as a construction laborer for many years. He was a member of the Tamaqua American Legion C. H. Berry Post #173, the South Ward Fire Company, Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, and was a founder and very active member of the Tamaqua Rescue Squad. Jim also enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family, especially his wife from whom he was inseparable.
He is survived by his son, Michael Bynon of Barnesville; grandchildren, Ashley, James III, Mary, Zaden, Connor, Alexis, Zane, Owen, Gage, Leiland, Braelyn, and Brynlee; a great granddaughter, Isabella; and numerous nieces and nephews.
James was predeceased by two sons, Matthew Bynon and James Bynon, II; and a brother, William Bynon.
Services will be held on Monday, December 23, 2024, at 11 AM at the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home, 500 East Broad Street, Tamaqua with the Rev. Cindy White officiating. Call from 10 to 11 AM at the funeral home. Interment with military honors in Odd Fellows Cemetery will follow services.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Lebanon VA Medical Center, 1700 South Lincoln Avenue, Lebanon, PA 17042.
Arrangements are being handled by the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home and Cremation services, Inc., Tamaqua.
Linda L. Kessler, 85, of Ashland (Lavelle) passed away Tuesday evening December 17th at Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital.

Donald “Don” Ermert, 77, of Schuylkill Haven formerly Frackville passed away Sunday December 15th at Geisinger St. Luke’s Hospital-Orwigsburg.
Born in Ashland on December 19, 1946 he was the son of the late Catherine (Wertz) and Wilmer Ermert.
Don graduated from Ashland High School in 1964.
He was of the Protestant faith.
Don was the husband of Susan M. (Plasksia) Ermert for over 54 years.
Don last worked as a truck driver for Lehigh Valley Dairy in Schuylkill Haven. He also served in the Army.
He enjoyed watching the Phillies, Eagles and Penn State football. Don was an all-around handyman who enjoyed tinkering with projects around the house.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by; son Donald Jr.; sister Betty Slotterback; 3 brothers Wilber “Hap”, Paul & Robert Ermert.
He is survived by; wife Susan M. Ermert, Schuylkill Haven; son Eric Ermert, North Dakota; daughter Dawn Matlock (Bob), New Ringgold; 3 grandchildren Ashley, Cade & Isabella; 3 great grandchildren; daughter in law Melissa Harris, Gordon; nieces & nephews.
Services will be private at the family’s request. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in Don’s memory to Hillside SPCA, PO Box 233, Pottsville PA 17901.
