Cyril John Tertel
, 71, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at home in Whitehall, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, December 17, 2024. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marion (Quintinksky) Tertel; son, Shaun Tertel and wife Michelle; daughter, Kristie Tertel; brothers, Mark Tertel and wife Mary, Joe Tertel and wife Sandy; sisters, Theresa Tertel, Midge Reba, Ann Shoup and husband Ken; granddaughter, Mia.

He was predeceased by father, Joseph Tertel, and mother, Anna (Gulick) Tertel, of Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania. Cy graduated with honors from Drexel University (BS) and worked at Air Products in Trexlertown, Pennsylvania as an Electrical Engineer.

A calling hour will begin at 9:00am and his Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Thursday, December 26, 2024 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church in Whitehall, Pennsylvania. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetary in Allentown, Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted to St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church, 618 Fullerton Avenue, Whitehall, PA 18052.

Anna L. Stinner, R.N., 88 of Bethlehem, formerly of Pottsville died peacefully Monday, December 9, at Holy Family Senior Living, Bethlehem.

She was born June 5, 1936 in Pottsville a daughter of the late Frank and Freda Franck Rehman.

She was a graduate of Pottsville High School and Pottsville Hospital School of Nursing.

Prior to retiring she was a nurse at the Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center and a lunch aid at the former Mount Hope School and the John S. Clarke Elementary Center, Pottsville.

Anna was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville where she was a Sunday School teacher for 50 years, a member of Kitchen Committee, Social Ministry and Circle 5. She was also member of PSERS and was judge of elections.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Stinner, Jr. in 1994.

Surviving are her son, Rev. Franklin S. Stinner, Sr. and his wife Debi, Nazareth; a daughter, Kathy Strohecker and her husband Gene, Herndon; 2 grandchildren, Jennifer Penglase and Dr. F. Scott Stinner, Jr.

Funeral Service will be held Monday December 30th at 11AM from James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville, with Rev. Chris Rothharpt officiating. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 10-11AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Williamstown Methodist Cemetery, Williamstown. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions in memory of Anna be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 300 W. Arch St. Pottsville, PA 17901.

Russell J. “RJ” Nelson
, 44, of Tamaqua, died Tuesday, December 17, 2024, in Allentown. 

Born in Coaldale, He was the son of the Doris (Curvey) Nelson and the late Russell “Rusty” C. Nelson. Russell attended Tamaqua Area High School and worked as a mechanic for Zeigler’s Autobody and Towing. He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Tamaqua. 

Russell is survived by his three children, Dylan Nelson and his partner Kaylee of Fogelsville, Morgan Nelson of Coaldale, and Hannah Nelson of Pottsville; brothers, Ricky Nelson of Abingdon, MD, Dr. Timothy Kluchinsky and his wife Aunika of Norfolk, VA, and Shawn Miller and his wife Cindy of Mountain Top, PA; sisters, Rushelle Slane and her husband Thomas of Tamaqua, Donette Miller of Petersburg, VA, Colleen Miller of Mahanoy City, and Juli Miller of Easton, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. 

He was predeceased by his father and a nephew, Timothy Jacob Kluchinsky. 

Services will be held at 8 PM on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home, 500 East Broad Street, Tamaqua with The Rev. Darryl Kensinger officiating. Call Thursday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Memorial Donations may be made to the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home. 

Arrangements are being handled by the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home and Cremation services, Inc., Tamaqua.
