Michael Allen Andes, Sr., 62, of Pottsville, PA passed away Saturday, December 21st, at Lehigh Valley Medical Center-Cedar Crest Campus, Allentown.

Born in Milford, CT on July 24, 1962, he was a son of Barbara (Saylor) Andes, Connecticut, and the late Eugene Andes, Sr.

Married in 2015, he was the husband of Kelly (Moyer) Andes.

Mike was a 1981 graduate of Derby High School, Connecticut, and later earned his Associate's Degree in Accounting from Reading Area Community College.

He was last employed by Yuengling Brewery.

In addition to his mother and wife, Mike is also survived by three children: Cory Andes, husband of Tammy, Reading, Kirstin Andes, companion of Jason Poulson, Mohnton, & Michael A. Andes, Jr., husband of Nikole, Sinking Spring. He was the proud “Grandpa” to five grandchildren: Lacey Boggetta, Skylar Andes, Elijah Poulson, Zariah Poulson, & Penelope Andes. He is also survived by five siblings: Eugene Andes Jr., husband of Maria, New Jersey, Lori Schaeffer, Lisa Hayes, wife of Bill, Steve Andes, husband of Patti, & Dave Andes, husband of Sandra, all of Connecticut, and numerous nieces & nephews.

Mike was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Boston Red Sox fan. He was the life of the party wherever he went.

A Viewing for family and friends will be held from 9:30 to 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 28th at Geschwindt Stabingas Ebling Funeral Home, Inc., Schuylkill Haven.

Joann Lowmaster
, 68, of Coaldale, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2024, in Franklin Township. 

Born in Parkchester, New York, Joann was the eldest daughter of the late Harry, Sr. and Theresa (Bilotta) Hontz. A 1974 graduate of Panther Valley High School, she was an active member of the First Congregational Church, Coaldale. Her pastimes included watching game shows, completing word search puzzles, and playing games. She was an avid bingo player. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. 

Joann is survived by her daughter, Christine A. Forrest of Summit Hill; her son, Donald L. Lowmaster Jr. and his wife Susan of Freeland; three grandchildren, Logan, Chesny, and Ethan; her sister Frances Foster and her husband Steven of Lansford; one niece; and three nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her companion of fourteen years, Roy Heintzelman and her brother, Harry Hontz, Jr. 

Services will be held at 11 AM on Monday, December 30, at the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home, 500 East Broad Street, Tamaqua with the Rev. Ruth Ann Christopher officiating. 

Interment in Sky-View Memorial Park will follow the services.

Monte Lee Zemencik, 68, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Saturday, December 18th at Geisinger St. Luke's, Orwigsburg.

Born in Pottsville on October 23, 1953, he was a son of the late Cyril Zemencik & Marlys "Molly" (Loeb) Zemencik Jones.

He was the husband of Jean Eileen (Runkle) Zemencik. The couple recently celebrated 48 years of marriage in September.

Monte was a graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School, Class of 1971.

He had worked as a machine operator at American Argo, as well as Arrow International/Teleflex.
Monte was of the Protestant faith.

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by one son, Jeff Zemencik, of Finksburg, MD; two grandchildren: Joshua & Gavin, two sisters: Sandra Houck, of Myrtle Beach, SC; & Cheryl Sirianni, of Schuylkill Haven, and one nephew, Kristian Houck, Colorado.

Services will be privately held at the family's convenience.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Monte's name may be made to Covenant United Methodist Church, 215 Main Street Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972.
