Terry L. Bachert, 68 years of age of Lewistown Valley, Pennsylvania died suddenly on Friday, December 20, 2024 upon arrival at St. Luke's Miners Memorial Medical Ctr. Coaldale, Pennsylvania.Born Saturday, June 9, 1956 in Pottsville, Pennsylvania the son of the late Marlin, and Hazel (Leiby) Bachert.
Surviving are sisters, Lou Anne Bachert and Jill Paea; his beloved dog Reese; adopted family, Joseph Hurst and his wife Carol, their children, Glendon, Violet, Daniel, Katie, Caleb, Saralyn, Susanna, and Jemima all of Lewistown Valley, Tamaqua Pennsylvania.
A 1974 Tamaqua Area High School graduate, Terry was employed by Dana Corporation in Reading for over 30 years even though his passion was farming. From the time he was able to walk he found himself in a field on a tractor alongside his grandfather or an uncle. Terry loved farming and there were not many days that went by that he was not found on someone's farm. In 2005 Terry was able to buy his own farm and today that farm is the last dairy farm in the Lewistown Valley.
He very much enjoyed having friends and neighbors stop by the farm and chat. Terry enjoyed hunting, the outdoors, and taking his dog for rides. Terry was a man who would get your mail when you were sick, shovel your sidewalks when it snowed and plow your driveway. Terry was the man who would bring his tractor or his wagon when you needed a hand.
For those of us who knew him and called him a friend or family, we were blessed. And for those of you who took the time to call him friend or family, I know he would have wanted to say thank you and thank you for blessing his life.
Private arrangements have been entrusted to the E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home & Cremation services, Inc. 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pennsylvania 18252. (570) 668-2550
