Adelaida Diaz
, 78 of Allentown died peacefully Thursday Dec 19th at Geisinger St Lukes Hospital, Orwigsburg.

She was born Mar 27, 1946 in Puerto Rico, a daughter of late Alfredo and Encarnation Acevedo Diaz.

She graduated for high school and attended college.

Adelaida worked hard all her life to provide her daughters and was a woman of devout Christian faith.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Alfredo Diaz.

Surviving are her daughters, Luz Velez, Pottsville; Yesenia Velez, Staten Island, NY; Yasmira Velez, Pottsville; 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren, nieces and nephew.

Service Celebrating Adelaida's Life will be held, Saturday, Jan 4 at 11AM from the James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 9AM until the time of services. The family would prefer donations to help defray some funeral cost to James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, 1112 W. Market St. Pottsville, PA 17901.

Darlene M. Zeller
, 76 of Palmetto, Fl formerly of Palo Alto, died peacefully December 17th at Manatee Memorial Hospital, Bradenton, FL.

She was born February 26, 1948 in Pottsville, daughter of the late George E. and Mae Buehler Kemfort.

She was a graduate of Schuylkill Haven Area High School.

Prior to retiring she worked for Tri Way Metals, Shenandoah; Zellers Market and Treat Shoppe, Reedsville and was Co-Owner of Zeller's Plumbing and Heating, Pottsville.

Darlene was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville.

She was preceded in death by her husband Richard M. Zeller, her brother Craig Kemfort and a nephew, Ryan Kemfort.

Surviving are 2 brothers, George E. Kemfort, Jr. and his wife Sharon, Monks Comer, S.C.; Jay Kemfort and his wife Nanette, Parrish FL; nieces and nephews.

Service of Remembrance will be held 11AM Saturday January 11th at Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville, with Rev. Chris Rothharpt. Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 10AM until time of services at the church. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions in memory of Darlene be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 300 W. Arch St. Pottsville, PA 17901 or Hillside SPCA PO Box 233 Pottsville, PA 17901.

Interment will be 10:30AM Monday January 13th at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.

Arrangements are under the care of James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville.

Lori A. Knarr, 63, of Tremont, passed away early Friday morning, December 27, 2024.

She was the wife of the late Eugene Knarr.

The Dimon Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Tower City is in charge of Lori's cremation arrangements.

Helen Pavelko, 94, of Minersville, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024 at The Gardens at York Terrace, Pottsville, with her loving nieces by her side. Helen had been a resident of York Terrace since April, 2024. 

Born in Minersville on April 18, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Helen (Kero) Pavelko, She was a 1948 graduate of Minersville High School. After graduation, Helen, relocated in Jersey City, NJ and worked at the Old Gold Cigarette Pant until 1957 and then Western Electric until 1985 when she retired and moved back to Minersville to care for her parents. While living in New Jersey, Helen enjoyed traveling, having visited many European countries and American states. She was recognized for her service as a longtime volunteer at Deborah Hospital. Helen loved to play Bingo, do word and jigsaw puzzles, and work in her garden. Over the years she was a member of several bowling leagues in Pottsville. Helen was also an avid reader. She was a member of St. George Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Minersville where she was a member of the Altar Care Ministry and the church food sale fundraising group. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Nicholas, Joseph and Michael Pavelko. 

Surviving are her sister, Jeanette, her caregivers, nieces Kathleen, wife of David Hughes and Joanne, wife of John Weachock, nieces and nephews. 

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the entire staff of York Terrace Nursing Home for their loving care and compassion. 

In lieu of flowers the family would prefer contributions in Helen’s memory made to the Minersville Free Public Library, 220 S. 4th St., Minersville, Pa. 17954. 

Honoring Helen's wishes all services shall be private. 

Interment St. George Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery.
