Barry Boyer, 33, of Shenandoah, passed away Wednesday Dec. 4, 2024, at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia. Born March 31,1991, he was the son of the late Barry Boyer, Sr. and Deborah (Mulkusky) Navarette, and stepson of Martin Navarette of Shenandoah.In his youth, Barry was a dedicated football player for both the Shenandoah Midget organization and the SV Blue Devils. Barry was a graduate of Shenandoah Valley High School, Class of 2009, and was well-liked by both teachers and classmates, as he was voted Prom Prince his junior year. He was an avid NY Yankees, Miami Dolphins, and a Formula 1 Racing fan. Family and friends were always his number one priority. He will especially be remembered for his kindness and great sense of humor, spreading smiles wherever he went. He was the “step-up” father of Diana Quinn and could be spotted at her school and community activities.
Barry was preceded in death by his father, and his brothers, Jason Zulkowski and Steven Finkel, as well as grandparents, Joseph A. Mulkusky and Dolores Mulkusky, and an uncle, Joseph Mulkusky.
In addition to his devoted mother and step-father, he is survived by his uncle, Robert Mulkusky, and aunt, Donna (Greenwalt) Mulkusky, and cousin Bryan. He also leaves behind his beloved companion, Emily Taylor and her daughter, his sunshine, Diana Quinn, along with additional aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Candace "Candi" (Schuetrum) Hemerick, 57, a resident of Ringtown, passed away peacefully on Friday evening, December 6, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Candi was born in Shenandoah on September 16, 1967, a daughter of the late Nelson and Ruth (Bright) Schuetrum. She was a 1985 graduate of the Shenandoah Valley High School, and worked several jobs in the local area including being a kitchen assistant at the former Creekside Restaurant in Ringtown and most recently a cashier at Boyers Food Market in Shenandoah.
Candi's love for cooking was second to her love of her grandchildren. Her life revolved around cooking and caring for her family, and nothing brought her more satisfaction. She had also mastered the game of Candy Crush and found pride in knowing that she spent more time waiting for the release of new levels than she did actually playing the game.
In addition to her parents, Candi was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Wirtz and Donna Ford; a brother, Richard Schuetrum, Sr.; and a grand daughter Isabelle.
She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Mark Hemerick, a son, Anthony Foresman and a daughter Dana Horan. The four grandchildren who were her world, Anthony Foresman, Jr; Madelyn Houser; Braxton Litchko and Addison Horan also survive.
Three brothers and a sister, Nelson G. Schuetrum, Roger Schuetrum, Scott Schuetrum and Darlene Wonderlick also survive along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews. Candi is also survived her best friend and niece who she treated more like a sister, Sherri Rudloff.
Candi will be laid to rest at the United Methodist Cemetery in Ringtown during private funeral services, which are being provided by the Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home.

Patricia Anne Grasso, 62, of Girardville passed away on Saturday, December 7th at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Patsy Harris. She was also preceded in death by her step-father, Charlie Harris.
Patty Anne is survived by her husband of 36 years, Dominick A. Grasso, Girardville; her 3 daughters: Danielle Cress and her husband Danny, Girardville; Darci Smarr and her husband Adam, Tamaqua; Dominique Bracey and her husband Will, Girardville; her brother Harry Murray and his wife Anne, Raven Run; a niece, Alexa Murray; her grandchildren: Anya, Kaysen, Finn, Kenley, Sawyer, Sonny and Baby Smarr on the way.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 13th at 4:30 pm at the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Girardville with Fr. Giuseppe Esposito officiating. Family and friends are invited to a visitation at the funeral home on Friday from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm.
Memorial contributions can be made, in Patricia’s name, to the Girardville Basketball Association at PO Box 136 Girardville, PA 17935 or to the Schuylkill Hope Center at PO Box 96 Pottsville, PA 17901.
