Schuylkill County will be celebrating a double dose of talent and pride at the upcoming 2025 Pennsylvania Farm Show.
Nine-year-old Cadence Kline, a Barnesville native, has been named the winner of the "Oh, Say Can You Sing?" contest, earning the honor of performing the National Anthem to kick off the prestigious event on Saturday, January 4, 2025.
In addition to Kline’s victory, Alexandra "Ally" Bet, also from Barnesville, will take the stage later in the week. Bet has been selected to perform during the Junior Livestock Sale on Tuesday, January 7, at 10 a.m., showcasing her vocal talents in one of the Farm Show’s most celebrated events.
This is the 4th year in a row that a singer from Schuylkill County has won the contest. In 2024, Thirteen-year-old Thea Sten, from Schuylkill Haven, became the winner. In the 2023 Farm Show, six-year-old Mia Bixler from Schuylkill Haven stole the spotlight by winning the contest with the most votes, becoming the youngest singer in the event's history to receive this honor. The previous year saw Kalli Smith from Gordon claiming the top votes for the 2022 Farm Show.
Cadence Kline: A Rising Star
Kline, chosen as the fan-favorite through a Facebook voting campaign, is set to perform the "Star-Spangled Banner" at the show's opening. Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding praised Kline and the other talented vocalists chosen to sing throughout the week.
“Our reliance on agriculture and our pride in the ‘Star-Spangled Banner’ unite us, regardless of our differences,” Redding said. “Cadence and other singers will set a tone of unity and pride in our heritage as we kick off each day at the Farm Show.”
The contest saw over 40 submissions, with 20 finalists selected by a panel of judges. Public voting on social media ultimately decided the winners.
Alexandra Bet: A Spotlight Moment
Ally Bet will represent Schuylkill County again with her performance during the Junior Livestock Sale on January 7th, 2024.
