Shenandoah Valley Basketball Scores Big with Charity Night

On Saturday night, Shenandoah Valley Boys Basketball team members past and present came together to support their team.

The team hosted a Charity Night, drawing community members together for an evening of competition and generosity.

The event kicked off with a THON-style Free Throw Challenge, a fundraiser where members of the varsity team showcased their skills from the foul line. Supporters pledged donations for every successful free throw, and the players didn’t disappoint. By the end of the challenge, the team had raised an impressive $2,203.60. The proceeds were earmarked for the Shenandoah Valley Sports Locker and the Veterans Support Fund.

Anthony Hernandez emerged as the event’s top fundraiser, bringing in $300 through his efforts and supporters’ contributions. Meanwhile, Landon Monaghan proved his sharpshooting skills, sinking 43 out of 50 free throws.

Following the Free Throw Challenge, the energy in the gymnasium shifted to nostalgia and camaraderie as the Alumni Game tipped off at 6:30 PM. Former players blue and white once again for a friendly yet competitive match. The White Team ultimately triumphed over the Blue Team in a 76-69 victory.
