Attorney Jennifer N. Foose has officially announced her candidacy for Magisterial District Judge for Court 21-3-04 in Schuylkill County.
The court serves residents in Barry Township, Branch Township, Cass Township, Eldred Township, Foster Township, Frailey Township, Hegins Township, Hubley Township, Pine Grove Borough, Porter Township, Tower City Borough, Tremont Borough, Tremont Township, Upper Mahantongo Township, Washington Township, and Wayne Township.
“I am proud and excited to announce my candidacy for District Judge to continue to serve the citizens of Schuylkill County,” Foose stated. “As your District Judge, I will serve with honor and integrity while fairly and impartially applying the law to all cases that come before the Honorable Court. My qualifications and experience make me the best qualified candidate to step into the role of your next District Judge.”
Foose, a 1995 graduate of Pine Grove Area High School, earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Penn State University in 1999. She later obtained her law degree from Stetson University College of Law in St. Petersburg, Florida, in 2004, and has been admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania since 2005.
Her legal career began as a Staff Attorney to then-President Judge William E. Baldwin in 2004. After two years in that role, she transitioned to serving as an Assistant District Attorney in Berks County from 2006 to 2008. In 2008, Foose joined the Schuylkill County District Attorney’s Office, where she currently serves as a Senior Deputy District Attorney.
With over 18 years of courtroom experience, Foose says she has handled a wide range of cases, from summary traffic offenses to first-degree murder. She has worked closely with local and state law enforcement to pursue justice for crime victims and was recognized in 2015 with the Children’s Hero Award from the Sexual Assault Resource and Counseling Center for her work in prosecuting sexual assault offenses.
Foose is also part of a team working to implement a Wellness Treatment Court to support individuals with mental health concerns who are facing criminal charges. Additionally, she is involved in developing a specialized track within the court system to serve veterans in need of legal assistance.
A lifelong resident of Schuylkill County, Foose grew up in Washington Township and now resides in Wayne Township with her husband, Courtney, and their two sons, Aaron and Taylor. She is actively involved in the community as a member of the Blue Mountain PTO, a volunteer at school events, and an attendee of Cub Scout meetings. She is also a social member of the Pine Grove Fish and Game and HH&L Fire Company, as well as a member of the NRA.
Foose will be cross-filing as both a Republican and a Democrat in the upcoming election. However, she emphasized her Republican candidacy and is seeking voter support to secure the role of District Judge.
