One person was injured in a three-vehicle crash in Frackville on Wednesday afternoon.
According to Frackville Police, on Wednesday January 22, 2025, around 3:00p, Frackville Police were dispatched to the 300 blk of S. Lehigh Ave for a Motor Vehicle Accident.
Investigation revealed that Margarita Zamudio, 26 of Shenandoah was traveling north in the 300 blk of S. Lehigh Ave in Dodge Journey.
Traffic in front of Zamudio had stopped for the traffic control signal at the intersection with Arch St. Zamudio was not able to bring her vehicle to a stop and struck the rear of a Hyundai SUV, driven by Paul Morales, 48 of Shenandoah. Morales’ vehicle was then pushed into the rear of a Kia SUV, operated by Selvyn Nicholson, 44 of Scranton. Morales’ and Nicholson’s vehicles sustained minor damage and could be driven from the scene. A passenger in Morales’ vehicle sustained injury and was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital in Pottsville. Zamudio’s vehicle sustained disabling damage and towed from the scene.
As a result of the investigation, Margarita Zamudio will be cited with Following Too Closely.
Assisting with the accident were Frackville EMS, Frackville Fire Department and Hoffman’s Towing.
