Girardville St. Patrick’s Day Parade Cancelled for 2025

Girardville’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade will not take place in 2025. The cancellation marks the second consecutive year the event has been called off.

The news surfaced on January 6, 2025, when the agenda for the upcoming Wednesday Borough Council Meeting revealed an item stating, "the parade will not be occurring." While Skook News was unable to attend the meeting, multiple borough officials confirmed that they had been informed by the parade committee of the decision to cancel this year’s festivities. Despite several attempts to reach out, the parade committee has not responded to any requests for further information or clarification regarding the cancellation.

The announcement comes as a surprise, given that organizers had just announced last month that the parade was scheduled for March 22, 2025. Historically one of the region’s most anticipated events, in it's prime, the parade has drawn thousands of spectators celebrating Irish heritage with music, marching bands, and floats.

At the time of publication, no official statement from the parade committee had been released. Skook News will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as more information becomes available.
