Schuylkill County students are making their mark in higher education, earning top academic honors at East Stroudsburg University.
A total of 1,771 students were named to the Dean’s List for the Fall 2024 semester of the 2024-2025 academic year, according to an announcement by Margaret Ball, D.M.A., provost and vice president for academic affairs.
The Dean’s List distinction is awarded to full-time undergraduate students who achieve a semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher while completing at least 12 credits of coursework.
Several local students from Schuylkill County were among those honored, representing a wide range of academic disciplines:
- Jacob Basrawi, an Integrated Art and Design major from New Ringgold
- Julia Burgess, a Nursing major from Minersville
- Ibet Chagolla-Rojas, a Business Management major from Shenandoah
- Melissa Ellis, an Athletic Training major from Auburn
- Josef Flail, an Exercise Science major from Frackville
- Jillian Gipe, a Nursing major from Orwigsburg
- Crysta Heffner, a Hotel, Recreation, and Tourism Management major from Schuylkill Haven
