Barbara A. Woll, 84, a former resident of New Cumberland, PA, currently a resident of Providence Place in Pottsville, passed away in the company of her sister Evelyn, and her caregiver, Debbie Drummer, on Sunday, January 12th, 2025.Barbara was born in Pottsville on April 16, 1940, a daughter of the late George and Anna (Leshak) Fedorchak.
She was a graduate of the Pottsville High School, class of 1958, and the Goldey Beacom College in Delaware. Barbara began her work career with the FBI in Washington DC, then worked for the former Dupont Berg Company as an executive Secretary for many years, retiring in 1988, after 30 years of employment. She then worked for Kelly Girls for a brief time after retiring, and volunteered for the Holy Spirit Hospital in Harrisburg for many years.
She enjoyed traveling to the Jersey Shore, Europe and the Carribean, singing and dancing. She sang with Adelines, El Shaddai, and the Schuylkill County Chorus. She loved her cat Chanel. Both she and her husband, William were members of the Market Street Presbyterian Church in Harrisburg, where she served as a greeter and also a Deacon for several years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, William J. Woll.
She is survived by her sister, Evelyn M. Jones of Orwigsburg along with cousins in the Harrisburg, St. Clair and Pottsville areas. A special thank you is extended to her caregiver Debbie Drummer, and her dear friend Peg Berger.
Barbara will be laid to rest following graveside services at the Charles Baber Cemetery in Pottsville, at 11 AM on Tuesday, January 21st, 2025. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Memorial donations in memory of Barbara are asked to be made to the Hillside SPCA in Pottsville or the Wounded Warriors Foundation.

Leona A. Buber, Age 90, of Port Carbon, passed away peacefully on Thursday afternoon, January 16, 2025. She was a resident at Providence Place of Pottsville for the last two and a half years.Born in Schoentown, PA on April 26, 1934, she was the daughter of the late John Tarris and Bertha Powelton Tarris Kralick and the Step-Daughter of the late John Kralick.
Leona graduated from the Soldiers Memorial High School in Port Carbon on June 12, 1951 and was the Valedictorian of her class and a member of the Honor Society.
Leona worked at the former Pennsylvania National Bank & Trust Co until the time of her marriage. She then devoted her time to her husband and raising their two children. She also worked in the Office of H.L. Miller & Son, Port Carbon for many years and also worked at the Sears Roebuck Department Store, Frackville until her retirement.
In 1951, Leona was introduced to a handsome man from Pottsville and soon after he became her prom date. One dance led to another which led to an infallible love. Leona married the love of her life, Edward on June 26, 1955 and they celebrated 67 years of marriage until her Husband’s passing on June 27, 2022.
Leona was a kind and caring person who enjoyed life. Her family, faith and community were important to her. She was an active and life-long member of the St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church in Port Carbon and was a member of the Rosary Society and the St. Vincent de Paul Society until the Church closed in January of 2020. She then became a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church in New Philadelphia.
Leona was also a very active auxiliary member in the local little league baseball and biddy basketball program for many years and enjoyed volunteer work at the local hospitals. In retirement, she enjoyed playing cards, participating in family events, listening and dancing to big band music, and cheering for the Penn State Nittany Lions.
Leona is survived by her two children: Paul E. Buber and his wife JoAnna, Port Carbon, Beverly A. Piscitelli and her husband Michael, Sinking Spring, PA and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Leona was predeceased in death by her parents, her loving and caring husband, Edward, her sister Helen Mirabella and her husband Maurice.
Leona’s family wishes to thank the staff at Providence Place of Pottsville and Compassus Hospice for the wonderful care Leona received during her stay at Providence Place.
Relatives and Friends are invited to a viewing, participate in praying the Rosary and a Mass of Christian Burial. Services will begin on Friday morning, January 24th at the Robert A. Evans Jr. funeral home in Port Carbon. Praying of the Rosary will begin at 8:30 AM and a viewing will follow from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Cross Church in New Philadelphia at 11:00 AM with Rev. Robert Potts officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either of the following: St. Stephen’s Church Memorial Fund, Hillside SPCA/Joe’s Fund, or the Port Carbon Public Library.

Terry L. Geist, 69, of Ashland, passed away peacefully on Tuesday at Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest with her family at her side.
Born in Ashland, she was a daughter of the late Ronald and Fae (Hubler) Geist.
She was a 1973 graduate of North Schuylkill High School and worked in the medical field.
Terry enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews who affectionately called her “MiMi.” She also enjoyed shopping with her cousins, going out to dinner, and celebrating the holidays, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Gary Geist; and her fiancé, Anthony "Babe" Shalamanda.
Terry is survived by her five brothers; Ronald (Patty) Geist, Paxinos; Scott (Jody) Geist, Zion Grove; Todd (Ruth) Geist, Ashland; Rick (Rhonda) Geist, Shenandoah Heights and Glenn Geist, Ashland; also by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services for Terry will be held on Wednesday, January 22nd at 11 a.m., from the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Girardville, with Pastor Paul Eby officiating. Interment will be in Jacobs Cemetery, Pitman. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Wednesday morning from 9 a.m. until time of service.

Bradley J. Kaufman, 44, of Ashland passed away at his home on Saturday, January 18th.
Born in Pottsville, he was the son of Mary L. (Klinger) Kaufman and the late Larry Joe Kaufman. He worked as a home health aide.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Sarah and Harry Klinger; and his paternal grandparents: Betty and Burd Kaufman.
Brad enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. He loved spending time with his family and caring for his cats. He also volunteered at the local food pantry.
He is survived by his mother, Mary L. Kaufman, Ashland; his daughter, Haleigh Kaufman and her fiancé Evan Freiler, Palo Alto; his sister Alyesha Kaufman, Port Carbon; and he is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A celebration of life service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, January 27th from the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Girardville. Friends and relatives are invited to his visitation at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will be held in Christ Church Cemetery, Fountain Springs at the convenience of the family.

Dolores M Huntsinger, age 92, of Valley View, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2025 at The Gardens at York Terrace, Pottsville.
She was born on Tuesday, September 20, 1932, in Strausstown, a daughter of the late Adam Lando and the late Mamie (Binner) Lando.
Dolores was a seamstress in several area garment factories prior to her retirement. She and her late husband also owned and operated the former Huntsinger's Hotel, Hegins for many years.
She was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Hegins, where she was very active in the kitchen committee.
Dolores was well known for her sewing and tailoring work that she did from her home.
Her husband, Melvin "Sonny" L Huntsinger, passed away in 1998. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Donnie L Huntsinger, two brothers , Adam Lando, Jr and William Lando, and a sister, Peggy Balthaser.
She is survived by two sons, Barry D (Cynthia) Huntsinger of Valley View, Robert J (Beth) Huntsinger of Ashland; a daughter, Barbara J (Steve) Barge of Hegins; five grandchildren, Dane, Ashley, Richard, Gina, and Nick; three great grandchildren, Holly, Cassie, and Grant; a brother, Arlan Lando of Gap; two sisters, Bonnie Rentschler of Bernville and Beverly Shollenberger of Shoemakersville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Friedens Lutheran Church, Hegins, on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Lee Diefenderfer officiating.
A viewing will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Thursday at the church.
Burial will be in Friedens Cemetery, Hegins.
