Thomas E. Hayes
, 83, of Locust Valley Barnesville passed away Wednesday, January 8th at his residence.

Born in Morea Colliery on June 11, 1941, a son of the late Mary (Zavitsky) and Alfred Hayes.

Thomas was a graduate of Mahanoy Township HIgh School class of 1959. He served in the Army from 1961 to 1964 and was stationed in White Sands, New Mexico. Thomas worked construction his whole life and retired a foreman from Drum Construction. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, gardening and telling his life adventures to his grandchildren.

Surviving is his wife of 60 years, Eleanor Schwartz Hayes. Daughters, Carol Reineke, and her husband Glenn, Levittown. Christine Trexler, and her husband Terry, Fort Meyers, FL. Sons, Thomas husband of Camille, Douglasville, Michael husband of Nicole, Barnesville and James husband of Melissa, Barnesville. Sister, Margaret Treskolasky, Orwigsburg and a brother Frances husband of Linda Langhorne.

Pappap is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Rachel (Adam), Megan (Sean), Katie (Jordan), Annie, Kyle, Brady, Michael (Danika), Sydney, Dani, Noah, Jack and three great grandchildren, Eli, Lilly, and Gwendolyn.

He was preceded in death by brothers Greg and Daniel.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Theresa of Calcutta Parish, Mahanoy City on Saturday, January 18 at 11 am with Reverend Kevin P. Gallagher officiating.

Friends and family may call at 10 am at St. Theresa of Calcutta Parish. Interment is private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Gym-Jam Autism Therapy, 150 Chamberlain Ave., Pottsville, PA 17901 or Hillside SPCA, Pottsville.

Mary F. Flanagan
, 79, of Minersville passed away Thursday while a resident of Schuylkill Center Nursing Home.

Born in Pottsville, she was the daughter of the late John and Catherine Fogarty Sabol.

Mary was a graduate of Nativity BVM, Class of 1963. Mary worked as a phlebotomist at the Pottsville Hospital and Warne Clinic for decades. In 1993, Mary then went to work for the Good Samaritan Hospital where she eventually retired.

She was a member of Holy Family Parish in Minersville.

Mary enjoyed travelling to casinos and attending Chinese auctions along with playing Bingo with friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband George who passed away in 2020. She is also preceded in death by her twin brother, John “Jack” Sabol.

Mary is survived by children Cathleen Stone wife of Michael of Cass Township and George Flanagan, III husband to Jaclyn of Myrtle Beach, SC. She is also survived by grandchildren, Gavin and Lydia Stone and Colin and Brady Flanagan.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at Grabowski Funeral Home, Schuylkill Haven at 11:00 A.M. A viewing will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services. Interment will follow on the grounds of Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. Memories and condolences can be shared at www.grabowskifuneralhome.com

John F. Visgarda, III, 49, of Mertztown, PA, passed away Thursday, January 9th, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest, Allentown.

Born in Pottsville on June 16, 1975, he was a son of Mary G. (Wallace) Visgarda Shulkitas, wife of Jospeh Shulkitas, of Minersville and the late John F. Visgarda, Jr.

He was in a relationship for 22 years with his significant other, Melinda Huber.

John attended Pottsville Area High School and the Votech program.

He worked as an automotive mechanic for Seitzinger’s and also ran a landscaping business.

In addition to his mother and significant other, John is also survived by his sister, Mary Ellen Foley, of Deer Lake.

A Graveside Service will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Pottsville at 1 PM on Thursday, January 16th.

Dorothy Moleski
, 83, of Minersville, died Sunday January 5, 2025 in Girardville.

Born in Wilkes Barre, April 28, 1941, She was a daughter of the late Gerald Phillips and Maryann Tutella.

In her younger years she worked as a bartender before her career as a home health aide.

She was of the Catholic Faith, having last worshiped at Annunciation BVM, Shenandoah

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband George Moleski; a daughter Georgine Stelma; Brother Robert Phillips; Sister Beverly Phillips.

Surviving are a son Joseph Petrosky of Pottsville; daughter Julie Gwin of Shenandoah Heights; 6 grandchildren including caregiver Dana Carr; 9 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Grandchild. She was very proud of all of her grandchildren. 2 Brothers Gerald W. Phillips of Reno NV; Frank Shiner of CA; Best friend Patricia Siminitus, Minersville.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.

Cecilia H. Eisenhart
, 87, of McAdoo, passed away Thursday morning at the Manor at St. Luke Village, Hazleton.

Born in Audenried, she was the daughter of the late George and Margaret (Lesko) Dvorscak.

Cecilia was a dedicated member of Church of All Saints, McAdoo, where she was a soloist and a member of the church choir.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, and will be sadly missed by all.

Preceding her in death, were her husband, James Eisenhart, Sr; brothers, Bill, Joe and George Dvorscak; sisters, Rose, Margaret, Mary, Betty, Kathy, Anna, Martha, Agnes and Joan. Cecilia was the last surviving member of her siblings.

Surviving are her sons, James Eisenhart Jr. and wife Michalene, of Drums; and Stephen Eisenhart Sr. and wife Denise, of Freeland; daughter, Mary Ann Reinard and husband Bill, of McAdoo; grandchildren, Stephen Jr., Michael, Zachary, and Erik; great-grandchild, Stephen III; and many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held Wednesday. Rev. Edward Zemanik will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Church of All Saints, McAdoo. Interment will follow in St. Mary of the Assumption Cemetery, McAdoo.

A calling hour will be held Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Church of All Saints, 35 N. Cleveland St., McAdoo, PA 18237.

The Damiano Funeral Home, McAdoo, is assisting the family with arrangements.
