Fern Betty Krause, 95, formerly of Dad Burnham's Road, Schuylkill Haven, passed away peacefully at Providence Place in Pine Grove on Saturday, January 11. Born in Summit Station in June 1929, she was the only child of the late Clayton T. and Anna P (Moyer) Schwartz. Raised on a farm in Rock, Fern graduated from Pine Grove High School in 1947. She was a member of Salem Hetzel's United Church of Christ.

In 1948 Fern married Ernest "Henny" Krause, to whom she was married for 70 years before his passing in 2018. Fern is survived by a daughter, Sandra J. Thomas (Keith), twin sons Donald L. Krause and Ronald L. Krause (Bonnie), granddaughter Jennifer L. Drey (Joshua) and great grandson Alex Drey all of the Pine Grove area. She is also survived by numerous Krause nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Jacqueline A. Butler in 1976.

A talented seamstress, Fern worked at Summit Station Manufacturing Company in Pine Grove for 30 years, where she had been a floor lady for 19 years. Having grown up as an only child, after marriage, she embraced her husband's seven siblings as her own and they embraced her as well. Many Krause family summer picnics were held at Henny and Fern's home in Rock over the years.

In her later years, she loved to travel, having visited all fifty of the United States, in addition to going along to Wyoming on hunting trips numerous times with her husband, Henny, where she would help the camp owners with the cooking.

Memorial services will be held at Salem Hetzel's Church, 261 Hetzel's Church Road, Pine Grove, Pa. at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 25, 2025, with Rev. Paul Cronin officiating. There will be a visitation for an hour prior to the memorial service. Interment will follow in the Hetzel's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Fern's memory to Salem Hetzel's UCC Church, 261 Hetzel's Church Road, Pine Grove, Pa. 17963. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the H. L.Snyder Funeral Home, Inc, Pine Grove.

Jean O. Kleckner
, 98, of New Ringgold, passed away Friday, January 10th, while in the company of family, at her residence. Jean was born in Pine Grove, on April 25, 1926, a daughter of the late Estella (Leymeister) Harris Shadel and Charles Harris. She was the widow of Raymond Robert Kleckner. Jean worked as a machine operator at Fessler Knitting Mill.

Jean is survived by three daughters, Kathryn Kramer, widow of Jack Kramer and John Miller, Renee Gerber, widow of Gary, and Lori Drogalis, wife of Deacon Thomas Drogalis, as well as
a son, Richard Kleckner, husband of Heidi. Jean is also survived by grandchildren - R. Scott, Krissy, Anne, Michelle, Jeffrey, Ricky, Taunia, Kelly, Kate, Ashley and Ben; great grandchildren - Jake, Kaylin, Kyle, Brianna, Mason, Braydon, Morgan, Carys, Cameron, Adrianna, Jack, Norah, Jay, Charlottle Jean, Audrey and Andrew.

She was predeceased by her sons, Raymond "Skip", and Robert, daughter Larue and Jean also had a predeceased sister Faye Lobnow

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Hamilton-Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc, has been entrusted with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to American Diabetes Association or Autism Speaks.
