Carl R. Broniman, 75, of Pottsville, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on Tuesday, December 31st, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Schuylkill E. Norwegian Street, Pottsville.
Services are private at the convenience of family.

Dennis M. Moran, 86, a life long resident of Pottsville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 1, 2025.
Dennis was born in Palo Alto on September 19, 1938, a son of the late Joseph J. and Ivy B. (Martin) Moran.
He was a 1956 graduate of the Pottsville High School, and then entered the military and served his country as a Medic in the US Army during the early 1960's. Upon returning to civilian life, he began his career as a pressman with the former Pottsville Republican, a job in which he would later retired from.
In his younger years, Dennis was an outstanding baseball player who also enjoyed to go bowling and play golf.
Dennis was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Pottsville, and served the church in different capacities over the years.
In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by seven brothers, Joseph; James J.; William; Thomas P.; Patrick D.; John F.; and Francis R., and a sister Geraldine A. Robsinson.
He is survived by his sisters, Mary E. Moran, Joan Margaret Wagner and Jeanette H. Furness, all of Pottsville. Nieces, nephews and his good friends and neighbors, the Robert Womer family also survive.
Relatives and friends are invited to a funeral service which will be held at the Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, 515 West Market Street, Pottsville, on Wednesday, January 8th at 11 AM, with Rev. Russ Hepler, pastor of the First Baptist Church, presiding. A viewing will be held from 10-11 AM prior to the service. Dennis will be laid to rest at the Calvary Cemetery in Pottsville, immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are asked to be made to the First Baptist Church, 701 Mahantongo St, Pottsville, PA 17901.

She was a 1952 graduate of Minersville Area High School and a member of the former St. Francis of Assisi Church in Minersville. Upon that church’s closing she became an active parishioner and soup kitchen volunteer at St. Patrick’s Church in Pottsville. Lucille was also a member of the “Third Order of Carmelites” joining that organization in 1988. She worked in local garment industries until her retirement.
She loved bowling and basketball and served as Coach for the St. Francis of Assisi CYO Girl’s Basketball Team in 1963 - 1964. Under her leadership the team won the Schuylkill Championship and captured the CYO District Honors in the 8th Grade division.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her son Kevin in 1986, a brother Frank Zelonis Jr. (Buddy), his wife Ann (Meyers) and brother-in-law Phillip Muscara.
Lucille is survived by her son Brian and wife Sandra (Miller), formerly of Cressona, PA and currently residing in Clarksville, TN; daughter Colleen, wife of Brian Brennan, Pottsville. Lucille loved spending time with her beloved grandchildren Thomas and Samantha Hart, Clarksville, TN; Katherine “Katie” Brennan, a student at University of Delaware and Lauren Brennan, Pottsville. Additional surviving family members include a brother Edward Zelonis, Minersville, sister Florence Muscara, Prescott, AZ, formerly of Minersville, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Green Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation and Compassus Hospice for the excellent care they each provided to Lucille.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30AM Saturday, January 11th at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville. Family and friends are invited to a viewing at the church from 9:00AM until the time of mass. Interment will be private in St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery, Minersville. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions in memory of Lucille be made to Beverly Mattson Memorial Food Bank, 315 Howard Ave., Pottsville, PA 17901.
Arrangements are under the care of James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville.

Irene Zaharick, 95, of Rapp Road, Girardville, passed away, with family by her side, January 1, 2025, at the Geisinger St. Lukes Hospital, Orwigsburg. The Richard W. Fritz Funeral Home, Ashland, will announce funeral arrangements.

Daniel E. Choplick, 81, of Friedensburg, passed away Monday, December 30th, at home.
Born in Phoenixville, PA on March 24, 1943, he was the son of the late Caroline K. (Bucharski) and Charles M. Choplick.
Married 26 years, Daniel was the husband of Janine (Dippel) Choplick.
Daniel was a 1961 graduate of Coal Township High School.
He was employed as a truck driver for Lehigh Valley Dairy Farms, Schuylkill Haven,where he was also a proud lifelong member of Teamsters Local Union 429.
Daniel was a lifetime member of Independence Fire Co., Shamokin and Excelsior Hunting Camp, Elk Grove, where his father was a founding member. He was a volunteer at Hillside SPCA, Pottsville and transporter for Glen Highland Border Collie Rescue.
Daniel was an avid sports fan for the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles.
He had a passion for riding his Harley, frequently participating in Poker Runs.
In addition to his wife, Daniel is survived by three sons, Daniel Choplick, of Harrisburg, PA; Charles Choplick, husband of Tracey, of Halifax, PA; Brian Choplick, partner of Elvin, of Phoenixville, PA; step son, Jonathan Nush, at home; grandson, Nicholas, and wife, Paula, of Maryland; and great grandchildren, Max & Gwen. He is also survived by a brother, Bruce, husband of Jane; a brother-in-law, Rob, husband of Eneida; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Daniel is preceded in death by brothers, Charles and Chester; sister, Carol (Bubernack); father-in-law; Robert; and mother-in-law; Dawn.
Services are private at the convenience of family.
