Kathryn Coxe
, 98 years of age of Mahanoy Street Tamaqua, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, as a guest of Greenwwod Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Tamaqua.

Born Wednesday, December 8, 1926 in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania. the daughter of the late J. Herbert and Elizabeth (Chester) Derr. Kathryn was also predeceased by; husband, William C. Coxe Sr.; brother, J. Chester Derr.

Surviving are son, William C. Coxe Jr. and his wife LeAnn; daughter, Susan E. Hoover wife of Mark; grandchildren, Ryan Coxe, Christopher Henne; great grandchildren, Brooklyn, and Will.

A 1944 graduate of Tamaqua High School, Kathryn attended Kutztown College, and worked as a telephone operator in Tamaqua. A member of Trinity U.C.C. of Tamaqua, Kathryn belonged to the Eastern Star Gnaden Huetten Chapter #203 of Lehighton. A talented artist, crafter. While living in Germany during her husband Williams Military career, Kathryn became accomplished in ceramics, duplicating Hummel Figurines so precisely that many could not distinguish between Kathryn's and the real figurine.

Mary J. Rauch, 74, of Orwigsburg passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday.

Born in Strausstown, she was the daughter of the late Paul Breidigan and her mother Edith Mae Loeb Breidigan.

Mary was a graduate of Pine Grove High School in 1968. She went on to work as a nurse’s aid for Holy Family Personal Care throughout her life.

She was a member of Bible Tabernacle Church, Schuylkill Haven.

Mary loved to read in her spare time along with watching the Hallmark Channel. Most of all, Mary enjoyed spending time with her family and playing games.

In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her sibling; Allen Breidigan and a sister Bonnie Breidigan.

Mary is survived by her husband, Kenneth along with their daughter, Renee Eisenhauer wife of Steven of Orwigsburg. She is also survived by her grandson, Steven Eisenhauer, Jr. husband to Alyssa of Port Clinton. She is also survived by her siblings; Paul Breidigan husband to Anna, June Zulick wife of Dennis, Kenneth Breidigan husband to Kathy, Penny King wife of Russell, and Joy Doyle companion to Mike Lubold.

A funeral will be held on Friday at Grabowski Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Douglas Schwenk officiating. A viewing will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services. Interment will follow on the grounds of Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. Donations in memory of Mary can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Margaret A. Hutton
, 74, of Minersville, passed away on January 6 at Lehigh Valley Cedar Crest, after a lengthy illness.

Born in Pottsville on June 11, 1950, she was a daughter of the late William H. and Hazel (Nolan) Moser.

Margaret worked as a beautician for many years at various shops including owning her own. She was an active member of Trout Unlimited. She enjoyed doing Civil War reenactments and sang in the Schuylkill County Choir.

Surviving is her loving husband, Clifford Hutton, a loving daughter Kimberly Fletcher and her husband, Mike Nyer, 4 grandchildren, Mazie Fletcher, Nia Fletcher, Morrighain Nyer and Nola Nyer, two great grandchildren, Penelope Raimondo and Finley Thompson, a sister, Dianne Bush and her husband, Courtney, two nephews, Edward and James Bush.

Private cremation services will be held from Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, Pottsville.

Patrick Francis Moore, Sr.
, age 87, of Pottsville, PA passed away Wednesday, January 8th, 2025 at his home.

Born in Pottsville, PA on August 25, 1937, he was the son of the late Francis and Kathryn (Garrett) Moore.

Pat served in the U.S. Navy from January 1955 till May 1958 stationed on the USS Northampton as a signal man. He worked as a machine operator at Treadagar in MarLin until retiring. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Pottsville, the Navy Club-Ship 257 in Minersville, and the 3 Point Hunting Club in Lycoming County. Pat was an avid coin collector and loved gardening and going hunting and fishing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great granddaughter Lainie Marie Kaminski and a sister Maryann Majeskie

Pat is survived by his wife of 65 years, Sandra Jean (Flail) Moore, Pottsville; a son Patrick Moore, Jr. and his wife Janice, Hegins; two daughters: Debra Zyk and her husband Andrew, Cressona; and Jane Myro and her fiance' Jose Lopez, Schoentown; seven grandchildren: Natalie, Kimberly, Patrick, Nicholas, Rachel, Justine, and Jaimie; eleven great grandchildren: Madison, Gabrielle, Emma, Victoria, Vanessa, Easton, Gage, Autumn, Ivy, Jenevieve, and Wyatt; and nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home, Port Carbon on Thursday January 16th at 11AM, with Rev. Dr. Kurt K. Kovalovich officiating.

Relatives and Friends are invited to visit with the family on Thursday morning from 9-11AM at the Funeral Home.

Interment will be private

Sharon Rae Steranko
, 76, of Pottsville, and formerly of Port Carbon, passed away on Monday, January 6th at Green Valley Healthcare Center, Pottsville.

Born on May 16th, 1948, in Coaldale, she was the daughter of the late William and Eva (Pritko) Stephenson of Diener’s Hill. Sharon was a 1966 graduate of Saint Clair High School and earned a stenography certificate from McCann School of Business. She moved to New York City to work as a secretary and court stenographer, where she met her first husband, the late Inacio (Joe) Gusmao, before moving to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Upon returning to Diener’s Hill she worked at Argo Mills- Willow Lake. Over the years Sharon also worked as a legal secretary, home healthcare worker, and owned an in-home daycare before retiring early to care for her husband and have epic adventures and thrilling tea-parties with her grandchildren.

Along with other little league parents, Sharon helped to form the Port Carbon Baseball Association where she raised thousands of dollars for Port Carbon Little League and Teener League. She was awarded Volunteer of the Year by Port Carbon Little League and was the 1994 Pennsylvania District 24 Little League Volunteer of the Year. She also raised money for the former St. Clair Ambulance Company to purchase needed equipment, and organized the Pottsville Area High School Class of 1988 “Mr. PAHS” Contest to raise money for the spring prom all-night party.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of nearly 25 years, Bernard Steranko; a brother, William Stephenson III; niece Louchelle Tarris; nephew Scott Geffert, and many canine children.

Sharon is survived by a daughter, Tammy Spevak and her husband Drew, of Pottsville; a son, Jason Steranko and his fiancée Lisa, of Allentown; grandsons Logan Spevak, Brooklyn, NY; Evan Spevak, State College; granddaughter, Kendra Spevak, Pottsville; sisters Darlene Geffert and husband John, Rutherfordton, NC; Judy Tarris and husband Bob, Jacksonville, FL; 8 nephews and many great-nephews and nieces; Step-children Debra Weiss, TN; Barbara DiMariano, NJ; David Steranko, Port Carbon; 5 step-grandchildren: John Weiss, Nicole Contrisciane, Thomas Steranko, Michael DiMariano, and Catherine Chapman, and grand-pets: Swiffer, Moxie, Stella, and Jareth.

A graveside service will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at 11AM.

At the family's request, memorial donations in Sharon’s name may be forwarded to Hillside SPCA PO Box 233, Pottsville, PA 17901.
