A Coaldale woman is facing animal cruelty charges for leaving her dog outside in subzero temperatures.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, on Wednesday, January 22nd, 2025, around 11:00am, they were called to East Ridge Street in Coaldale.
It was reported to Troopers that a brown dog was left outside all night with no access to water or shelter.
An investigation by Troopers showed that the dog was given an unheated doghouse with several blankets for warmth and was not allowed inside the home. The water given to the dog to drink has frozen due to the subzero temperatures.
The owner, Mikisha Acevedo, 36, of Coaldale, forfeited the dog to Troopers who transported it to Hillside SPCA.
State Police charged Acevedo with neglect of animals.
